AF MEDCON PROCESS

Just a warning if you are a reservist attempting to get MEDCON orders after an injury sustained from accident while in duty status. (example a car accident not caused by you)
The process is extreme - and broken. Regardless of what you provide - it will never be complete enough and if you have to deal with long wait times to obtain your profile from the PCM and it's time consuming for you to get your Treating physician to sign treatment plans be prepared for many delays in processing times. Top that with the SG office delaying submission of your MEDCON pkg for greater than 30 days - you will end up having to re-accomplish treatment plans (they only accept plans that are less than 30 days old). The SG office also gives you WRONG versions of forms and eventually your package gets kicked back for something like that...so they run you around in circles, make you jump thru hoops and most likely will deny your MEDCON request. There is so much more to this story, but all i can say is don't waste your time - because they really don't care.

This legit sounds like I would have posted this...
My medcon orders were denied on the 22nd because...

After a thorough medical review it has been determined that member currently does not meet MEDCON eligibility. Specifically, Member has a single LOD with a qualifying orders period of 27MAR18 through 14NOV18. Since that time the member has been on orders repeatedly often without an associated profile. This implies a RTD. Per AFI 36-2910, para. 1.7.1. an LOD determination is accomplished for a single illness, injury or disease and cannot be reused to claim subsequent benefits and entitlements after a member has been returned to duty without restrictions pertaining to the original illness, injury or disease. Para 1.7.1.1. If there is subsequent service aggravation of the illness, injury or disease, a new LOD determination must be accomplished. A new LOD is required.

Even though I had surgery on base on the 16th of November using my LOD...

I was on admin orders after my deployment, which had NOTHING to do with my AFSC. If I wasn't on those orders, then I'd have been fucked out of my LOD because I was turned away when I tried to initiate the LOD application when I got back from deployment. It was after my first set of admin orders that my medical group started the LOD application from my deployment because I was continuously going to physical therapy appointments to get healed during my admin orders.
