Air Force MEB Timeline

just finished my peblo meeting and I'm rated 70% DOD/100%VA temporary retirement (don't know what that means). Next step is reaching out to do the out processing interview?
Congrats, man! (As long as this is the outcome you wanted)

Is 100% VA P&T? If there's a bit about Chapter 35 in the document which breaks down your disabilities, then it's P&T.

Temporary retirement means that you have an opportunity to go to a recruiter and try the military again, lol. I think eventually it converts to permanent retirement.

The reason it's temporary is probably because your NARSUM said the condition would improve?

awesome! temporary just means you will be evaluated when you're out for a little while to see if there are any improvements in your condition. As long as you maintain your appointments when you're out and nothing juristically changes, they will reevaluate to see if your condition is permanent as well change the retirement to permanent or whatever deems necessary.

I declined my retirement ceremony, since I only did 3 years. But I want the certificate and the flag. I should still be getting those, right? Medical retirement counts as regular retirement?

yes on the second email from FSS it outlines it all. hopefully you can still do a going away or something you still supported the military and deserve to be acknowledged.

Appreciate it. Yeah, with help from some of my colleagues and medical staff I was able to overcome the feeling of guilt. Though there's still plenty of people in my shop who think I got all the benefits for nothing and think it's bullshit.

I'm glad I could be of help! My buddy at the shop was joking with me saying I'm only on reddit and these forums for my own reasons. I said that initially yes, but after I got my answers and figured out how PEB worked more or less, I was happy to answer people's questions too and ease their minds a bit. I hated how out of loop I was for first couple of months.

I am so early in this process my CIS just got sent up today but I feel like I am so clueless when it comes to this stuff. How/where did y'all figure out what you needed to do or even what most of this stuff means. This has been a long time coming for me and I want to be as informed as possible so I never cause any of the hold ups I'm sure are gonna happen.

Honestly, this site has been huge for me and probably my biggest resource. I'm usually able to find answers by just searching and looking at timelines, and there are a lot of resources posted throughout. I also know two people that have gone through it so they were helpful in the early stages before I got a PEBLO. If you don't know anybody, do a quick search here and if you can't find an answer then just create a post. People are usually pretty quick to provide help!

Are you planning on doing a VARR? That's why you didn't sign them today I assume?

The issue with my VA claim which is just how they do it but my two main issues with me compound each other so they are both rated at 70% and since symptoms can't be identified differently they put them together therefore 1 rating of 70% and then the rest was little stuff so 50% 30% 20% 10%.

Yeah, they did that with me too. They lumped my Idiopathic Hypersomnia with Mental Health, even though MTF Neurologist diagnosed it and I'm prescribed Xywav.

right, its super weird and kind of annoying, but I do intend to sign no matter what lol.

Yeah, you have up to a year after DOS to add anything else or appeal the ones you think were rated lower than they should've. I was going to sign as well whatever the rating was.

Also I told my PEBLO that as long as my DOD % was above 30, I was good and my VA was 100% P&T, so she let me sign it on the spot.

Did your claim ever appear close with "BEL"? Mine says closed and the document only has BEL with it. is that the benefits estimate letter that gets sent to AFPC?
