OK, long time lurker here back when I was going through the painful IDES process. Finally completed after appropriate amount of pain and confusion. However, I've never filed for CRSC as I was under the impression that I did not qualify. Finally decided to ask those who understand better than I.
So, here is the short version of my confusing story.
IDES rated me 60% (a 50 and 10 rating)-Army and 70%-VA. 18 months after retirement a long forgotten VA appeal changed my ratings to VA 90%, and the PTSD claim, which was included in the retirement calc, was raised from 50% to 70%. However, my military retirement still sits at 60% as I was told the only way to change would be Records Review Board and that it was highly unlikely, even though it was the VA who admitted their original IDES rating was incorrect.
So, I am a CHP 61 Retiree with the following info...
-------
Date placed on retired list: 11 February 2014 Retired grade of rank: O-3
Authorized place of retirement: Not Applicable
Percentage of disability: 60%
DOB: XXXXXXXX
Sex: M
Retirement type and allotment code: 11
Component: USAR
Authority: AR 635-40
Statute authorizing retirement: 1204
Other eligible laws: Not Applicable
Disability retirement: 10 Years, 01 Months, 24 Days
Basic Pay: 20 Years, 00 Months, 05 Days
Completed over 4 years of active service as Enl or WO: YES
Disability is based on injury or disease received in LOD as a direct result of Armed Conflict or caused by an instrumentality of war and incurred in the LOD during a war period as defined by law: YES
Member of an armed force on 24 Sep 75: NO
Disability resulted from a combat related injury as defined in 26 USC 104: YES
Format: 687
-------
I am currently rated 60%-Army (Again with that uncorrected change from 50 to 70 floating out there) and 90%-VA, currently TDIU.
So, based on the info I've been able to provide, any ideas whether I would/should receive CRSC?
Thanks all for the help. Even though I mostly just read, this forum was invaluable during my Med retirement process.
