Hello,
I found out this morning that my PA just wrote a recommendation for a MEB/PEB, after a long journey. First symptoms started 3 year ago but I was pregnant. I have had all the symptoms I am currently experiencing for over 2 years. It took over a year of going back and forth to the PAs telling them I am constantly losing weight, pain all over, headaches, rash, extreme fatigue, poor sleeping, and changing of colors in my hands etc. They just kept attributing to me breastfeeding my son. I finally went to a dermatologist in Feb 2015. He could tell that there was more going on than just a skin rash. He said he didn't typically order lab tests but he did and thank goodness he did. My panel for Celiac Disease came back positive and then he did a skin biopsy for Dermatitis Herpetiformis (positive as well). I was official diagnosed with Celiac then went on a strict Gluten Free diet and the stomach issues subsided, however, the pain, not sleeping well, fatigue, headaches, color changing hands and weight loss( 107 at 5'9) continued. They have done every test I can think of to include EMG, VRSAT, MRI, etc. Fast forward (with tons of appointments and testing in between) to this March I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist with Fibromyalgia (put on cymbalta) and Raynaud's syndrome. The administrative person at my clinic called to tell me my recommendation for medical discharge from the gastroenterologist came thru and that the PA was recommending for a MEB/PEB however he doesn't think the case is strong. I am still in constant pain even though they have upped my gabapentin, given me flexeril, and cymbalta. No change in weight and the fatigue is so bad that I feel like my body is shutting down. Has anyone been through a similar case? What was your outcome? How long did it take?, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
