Are all documents for CRSC necessary?

I'm just wondering if I can use my VA decision letters, dd214, retirement orders and ratings code sheet. also I have been out of the Army since 2014. got injured in Afghanistan back in 2012 after stepping on an IED and losing my lower foot below the knee. what I have read is that you have 6 years to file after getting out. will they still process my application now that it is 2024?

I'm sure they have my Army records they can just pull up. deployed with my unit twice, 9 months to Iraq in 2009 and 5 months to Afghanistan in 2012, I only did 5 because of the IED blast. I was E-5 at the time of injury and getting out of the Army. joined in October 2008 but my actual Basic Training date at Fort Benning, GA was in January 2009. I was out of the Army early around May 2013 but my actual medical retirement was in 2014. I don't know how to do CRSC math but I think it might be around $200 a month since I'm 100% P and T VA.
 
Absolutely! It's not that you only have six years to get it done, it's that you only get six years of retro pay, which is why people are told "get it done in six or else" because the "or else" means you're leaving money on the table.

I'm sure you have a Purple Heart in amongst your documentation, include a copy of the orders if it's not on your DD-214. You should be fine with that along with the documents you've mentioned above.

Ok Thanks for the clarification. was confused about the whole filing right after discharge. forgot about it till now, so much buzz on social media about VA and retirement offset. I signed the waiver while going through the Med Board process. does that in any way affect CRSC?

I have awards on my dd214. Will this be viable for crsc proof? IMG_0315.jpeg

Yes along with the other documents you mentioned in your first post. It wouldn’t hurt to throw in your Purple Heart citation if you have it.

You could get away with just the DD-214 but as @JMATTK and I stated above, include the PH orders or citation and you'll be more than good. Also, the fact that you have your CIB is an added bonus.

I'm a CRSC Ambassador for the Army, yes they can still process it, I've been doing this for 8 years now.
