Camp Pendleton Timeline / C&P question

Anyone know what the Navy allows you to take for terminal leave? What about PTDY? Do you get your leave paid out if you have excess? I’ve got like 60 days left.

Milpersman 1320-220

If you are retiring, you get 20 days PTDY. If you are separating, 10 days PTDY. You get more if OCONUS.
As far as terminal, you will be limited by your final out date. You can only sell 60 days total during your time in the military. Terminal leave is at the discretion of the command but most don't bat an eye at taking 30 days. I've seen some chits approved much higher than that (your commands mission, manning, etc will be indicators on whether they will allow you take a longer terminal leave but like I said you will be limited by your final out date.

The link for the MILPERSMAN is above. You can combine PTDY with your terminal leave as well. Hope this helps!

So your final out date is simply given to you? I hoped they’d work with me so I can maximize my terminal leave. Unfortunate

All the services, except for Navy allow for what you're looking for. Go figure..

Got my PDRL message today. Admin submitted the salesforce case for my orders. I’m out 17APR.

I called about 3 business days later and just told them my claim closed and asked if they could send my findings since I was on travel. It took 4 reps before one of them agreed to send it.

Congrats! So when you were given your findings did you not also find out that it was permanent? What is the PDRL message that came later? Anything I need to do after I get my findings in preparation for getting out? No one at my command has a good pulse of this stuff.

As a part of the findings, they sent over the VA proposed ratings. Mine indicated I was P&T. After you sign and return your findings, PEB send them to pers as an index. Once Pers received the index, the PDRL message is released within 96 work hours. The PDRL message is the official message authorizing your medical retirement and contains your last date / retirement date. Once you have that, admin begins processing your stuff to get orders and separate/retire you.
