Ron, or anybody

Could you help me get a ballpark amount for my approved CRSC

$1661 on RAS,
30% when I medically retired,
17 years 2 months, 9 days,
100% VA with SMC,
4 dependants wife, 3 kids, 17, 15, 14,
70% CRSC

Less than $1661 Due to it being lower than lower than the VA rate of $1726

understood, but would anybody know how to calculate it. I'm horrible with this stuff

Hello,

Estimate:

1. 1661/0.30 = 5536.67 high three
2. 17.16 yrs active duty x 0.025 = 42.9% longevity multiplier
3. 5536.67 x 0.429 = 2375.23 longevity portion of retired pay
4. Retired pay reduced to zero by amount of VA comp
5. You did not provide you VA comp amount nor the type SMC; however, I can tell from the VA comp tables that 70% in your case would be more than the amount waived,
which is 1661.
6. Your CRSC, based on the info you provided (including 17 years 2 months of active duty) = 1661

smc-k not approved for CRSC.
Is VA commp the wavier amount?

The retired pay "would be" waived at $3000 plus; however, the actual amount waived is the 1661 you cited as being the gross on your RAS.

Example:
My retired pay = ~2800
My VA comp = ~3500
My actual waiver = 2800
My CRSC @ 100% and as a regular retiree = 2800

Ron

There are several ceilings for CRSC for CH 61 with less than 20 years AD.

--CRSC cannot be more than the waived retirement amount
--CRSC cannot be more than the longevity portion of retired pay
--CRSC when combined with residual retired pay cannot be more than the longevity portion of retired pay

Your CRSC, based on the info you provided, falls under the first bullet.
