Looking for some assistance to calculate CRSC. I am about to begin my terminal leave and just trying to calculate for the near future. I am medically retiring.

1. High three average:estimated at $4,096 as an E-6 based of respective year pay charts and time in service over last three years.

2. My DoD disability rating is 80%

3. My active duty will be 12 years and 11 months.

4. VA compensation: 100% with spouse and 4 children under 18. I was told I would be getting around $4200/month. I believe this is accurate.

5. I have combat code tied to my 70% disability on my 199.

6. Do you qualify for any other retirements that I believe.

thank you in advance!

Hello @Beegill101

Estimate using your info.

a. 4096 x 75% = 3072 retired pay
b. Retired pay reduced to zero by VA comp amount
c. 12.916 x 2.5% = 32.29% longevity multiplier (note 2% is used if you had blended retirement plan)
d. 4096 x 32.29% = 1322.60 longevity portion of retired pay and a CRSC ceiling
e. You will receive the LESSER of
—1322.60 for CRSC
OR
—the amount found in the VA comp tables for your approved CRSC percentage. If your approved CRSC Percentage was 40% and you have spouse and one child under 18; find the amount for that status in the VA compensation tables

Thank you Ron! Very helpful and appreciate it. I do not have blended retirement.

Just to make sure, you are calculating I should be receiving around $1322.60/month for CRSC in addition to VA comp pay?

Yes, based on the info provided IF your longevity is less than the approved CRSC amount (found in VA tables).

Good luck,
Ron
