CRSC Denial 2017

Hello,

I initially applied to CRSC back in 2017 about a year after I got out via MEB. I was denied. I relooked over my PEB documents and although it lists that the injuries I was retired for werent combat related, the PEB board findings acknowledge that the onset of the injuries occurred doing my deployment. Is this enough to appeal a CRSC denial claim. I am thinking about hiring a lawyer to do this for me but I don't want to waste money if I'm goin

Hello,

I would never discourage someone from applying for CRSC.

However, the fact that a disability occurred in a combat zone does not =
Combat related.

Example: fell over a stack of beer cans in the tent area and damaged knee= not combat telated.

First, I'd check with nvlsp.org - they're pro bono lawyers who do this for vets. Second, as @RonG stated just because it happened in a combat zone does not mean it's combat-related.
