Hello all,

I've just found out about this entitlement this week. Some information:

Service Time: 10 years and 25 Days in the Air Force.
Rank or High 3: May 2018 to June 2022 as an E5. June 2022 to Nov 2024 as an E6.
Medically retired on Nov 28, 2024 for Asthma and EoE (Retired as an E6).
DoD %: 60%
VA %: 100% PT

Is this something I qualify for? If so, any idea what my monthly comensation would be? I have all medical records, etc in order to apply. I would need to do some research on how exactly to correctly fill out the application.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you meet the basic requirements. You can’t really figure out what you would get paid but you can figure out what your max payment could be. You just need to figure out the what your high 3 pay is… with 10 years in you would get 25 percent of that amount. Unless you opted for the blended retirement system then you would get 20 percent. So if your high three pay is 4k you would normally get 50 percent for a traditional retirement at 20 years.. so 2k. In your case you only have 10 years and some change so you would max at 25 percent of that 4k get 1k. Does that math make sense? This is a basic scenario. Your high three is probably not 4k. Your high three pay can be found on your RAS on mypay.

As to your conditions no one can really tell you if you will be approved or not. You just have to apply and submit the relevant paperwork and wait out the response.

From what I posted on another thread:
Put in for any PACT Act claims that you are rated for (as long as you were in the required locations). Those PACT Act claims are supposed to be "auto-approved" by CRSC due to instruments of war.
So sinusitis, rhinitis, asthma, bronchitis, IBS (gulf war presumptive, not PACT), etc...

Keep us updated on the Asthma CRSC (if you file for it). I hear AF is pretty strict on the "diagnosed after service" part.

Thanks for the information.

The Asthma CRSC shouldn't be an issue since it's the main reason I was medically retired in the first place?

Still waiting on the my VA results. Currently in step 7 of 8, "Performing final review." So it should be any day now.

Thanks for the information.

im in the same boat. asthma is my referred condition.
but i've heard that the Air Force CRSC for Asthma (if diagnosed during service) is hard because the PACT Act specifically says "Diagnosed After Service".
apparently other branches are easier to get asthma approved.

Do you think this verbage on my AF Form 356 would help? 1734532672944.png

Maybe but just keep in mind that the decision makers for CRSC use different parameters than what the VA/DOD use.
But hopefully it works for you.
Gotta at least try.

Good evening I was changed from TDRL to PDRL 30% VA 100%P&T with 15y 7mths service. I am being told different things depending on who I talk to plz I need clarification. Am I eligible to receive my military recruitment pay that was waived to receive VA comp?

That whole "diagnosed after service" is definitely misinterpreted by the Air Force. It does not say "after separation from service", after service can mean a lot of things. I have been told it means after serving in theater/exposed to hazards. How does it make sense that asthma only counts for CRSC if it is diagnosed after separation? I think we need clarification from the VA on the PACT act, it points to making sure that asthma was not a pre-existing prior to service and was diagnosed after serving in theater. Quoting the PACT Act, "Pre-existing health status of the veteran, including with respect to asthma."
