CRSC Estimate please

Like April 2018 you were 70 percent CRSC and then in October 2018 they bumped you to 90?

And you want to know the pay difference in that increase? Or do you want to know how much retro payment amount you will get?

Also your retro payment couldn’t be more than 21,816 as retro pay is limited by law to 6 years.
First question yes second question yes and third question I would like to know both

So the thing is… you’d have to go back and figure out what your high three was for all those prior years to get the most accurate number. Every year there is a cola increase to retired pay and VA compensation… just like regular military pay… so the 303 max is probably based on what your RAS on mypay says for the current pay year. The prior years will all be slightly lower maxes.

But the 70 and 90 percent difference currently for 303 is 212 and 272. Again prior years will be lower and your retro pay is limited to 6 years by law.

Hello @MSG_Raven2-3 ,

Assuming you did not have the blended retirement and using your figures:

10.8 x 2.5% = 27% longevity multiplier

High three per your computation : $6785.79 x 27% = 1832.16 a CRSC max which is reduced by 338 residual

1832.16 minus 338 = 1494.16 CRSC payable
DFAS will pay (in your scenario) 1494.16 plus 338 residual retired pay
The VA will pay the full amount of your VA comp

The longevity amount is much less than CRSC @ 100% using VA compensation tables.

Alcon,

I wanted to give you an update on the actual conclusions.

Applied for CRSC 9/19/24 to Army HRC via email. Received email from HRC stating they received application 9/19/24.

CRSC approval on 1/7/25 via snail mail. Loaded to iperms 1/21/25 (same day I got the snail mail).

CRSC granted 100%.

The estimate you gave me was danger close even with the COLA changes in 2024.

My pay stub
Ret pay before deduction $5099
VA Waiver $4870.78
CRSC $1568.78

Dfas residual is $228.22. $1568.88(CRSC) +$228.22 (residual pay after VA offset) =$1,797.1 ($1832 was the longevity estimate)

So totals will be:
1.VA 4870.78
2. DFAS residual 228.32 (minus the SBP robbery $332/month) plus $1568.78 (CRSC)=$1465 DFAS NET PAY
3. Total VA + DFAS net=$6335.78

Congrats on getting CRSC so that you maxed out compensation by getting the sum of your earned longevity pension + VA compensation!
