What is your DOD disability retirement percentage? I cannot determine your high three without it.

Hello @Uncomfortable
1. 1162/40% = 2905 high three
2. 1162 is reduced to zero due to VA offset
3. 8.5 years x 2% (blended) = 17% longevity multiplier
4. 2905 x 17% = 493.85 longevity portion of retired pay and CRSC maximum in this case assuming 70-80% CRSC being approved by his service.

CRSC = 493.85

Ron

Huh, interesting. I assumed it would be closer to the retired pay amount. Thank you.
Generally, CRSC is the lesser of

1. Longevity portion of retired pay
OR
2. The amount in the VA comp tables for the percentage your service approved.

Ron

Edited to add:

CRSC can never exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.

CRSC can never exceed the amount of waived/reduced retired pay.

CRSC can never exceed the CRSC approved percentage using the amounts in VA compensation tables

CRSC when combined with residual retired pay cannot exceed the longevity amount.

All of the limitations must be considered when computing CRSC for Chapter 61 (disability) CRSC. The “lesser” amount is the CRSC.

In other words, some computations include comparing each of the limiting factors discussed above.
