CRSC Impossible

Last time I called and talked with the AF CRSC Rep, Jenifer Andrews she said my CROHN'S DISEASE and GERD combined rating for 100% needed the initial Doctors appointment for GERD. That doesn't exist because the Doctor that diagnosed me for Gerd was the same one that diagnosed me for Crohn's and it was all mashed together while I was admitted to the military hospital on Landstuhl. So how do I get approved for CRSC without that documentation due to them not ever creating it. She said a prescription for Gerd meds wouldn't count. I'm frustrated about all of this. I was medically retired in after 13.5 years back in 2014 and this whole time I believe that I should have been getting CRSC and when I went to apply for it I was told to find a piece of paper that some doctor never generated. If I somehow get CRSC what would I be looking at per month?

Is that presumptive? If so you would need proof that you were deployed to a qualifying country such as DD214 and VA award letter for those conditions. For the Army that would be all that needed. Did you submit a CRSC application before or after the PACT Act passed?

I haven't applied because I can't find anything in my AF medical records that fulfills her requirement. I had hard copies after getting out but my crazy ex burned most of them. I've tried getting mine but I fall into that era of they were digitized and now don't exist apparently. I even requested them from the National Archives and they said they had nothing. So I just feel stuck and am hoping for something somehow to happen positively for a change.

I have proof of my deployments as well as an email from a DOD Historian covering the number of mortar attacks we had during those periods of time with hopes that it can help with my PTSD for CRSC as well. But I'm again Ms. Andrews seemed to suggest that indirect fire no mater how often or close it hit to us, without an actual record of being injured it wouldn't matter.

I'm just frustrated and defeated at this point and am hoping someone has more info that might help.

I am not sure at all about what should happen in your case...mainly, because you don't have a case until you apply and get an answer. (You get approved, you are good to go....you get denied, you get a decision that helps you understand the reason for the denial. Hopefully, they will explain the decision in enough detail to inform you of the basis for the denial.)

I haven't applied because I can't find anything in my AF medical records that fulfills her requirement.
I think this is your baseline problem....if you think you are entitled to CRSC, talking about it and not applying means you won't get it. Seems to me that you should apply.

You talked about GERD and Crohn's, but you didn't mention PTSD before. See my above comments. It seems to me that you should apply for CRSC.

Ms. Andrews has successfully convinced you not to apply (which means you will not get CRSC, because you haven't applied for it). Seems to me you should apply.

I agree with Jason, you don't know until you apply. Had this exact conversation with someone else who kept putting the cart in front of the horse stating a certain branch was not following the guidelines for Presumptive conditions. Long story short, that person is finally putting the horse first and getting their claim in. Btw, Ms Andrews retired at the beginning of February this year.

Thank you both and I'm glad to see that you're still on here Mr. Perry. You were the lawyer I hired back in 2012 when my MEB was going through and I tried reaching out a couple times in the last few years to see how everything was with you. Thanks as well Sir for the information on Ms. Andrews retirement. That explains why I haven't head back from her.

If it helps any, I recently submitted my packet and got me decision letter, albeit from the Army, but 2 combat tours to Afghan, and my 30% rating for Hyper-Awareness/Sleep Disorders was awarded with the reason of combat deployment and location. I have a CIB but they didn't cite that as the reason.
