CRSC Pay Estimate

Thanks, Ron and Provis, I reached out to DFAS and they put in a request to have the amount I received audited. Once complete, they will send me a breakdown of the calculation by mail of how they arrived at the number. I went through the adjusted amounts, by year, like you both said and I came up with more than what I received. I'll report back once I hear something. Thanks for what you do guys!

Hi Ron,

Medically retired at 5yrs and 10mos. 70% Army and 100% VA. The medical conditions that I was retired for were not directly combat related however I do have injuries from ruck march, FTX, and ACFT totaling 60%.

Should I even bother to apply after leaving the Army as an O-3 under the blended retirement system?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello @alsdnd ,

I highly recommend you apply for CRSC.
CRSC is not limited to disabilities incurred in a combat zone. Please review the Army’s excellent CRSC page.

Also, a link to @RetiredColonel-MikeT CRSC page should follow my signature block.

I will post a link to a collection of CRSC info later.

Good luck,
Ron

Thank you. Your advice is much appreciated.
Hello @alsdnd ,

Glad we can help.

Your CRSC amount (if approved) will likely be the hypothetical longevity of your retired pay.

Active duty equivalent Years and full months *5.83* x 2% = your longevity multiplier 11.66%

Average high three base pay x longevity multiplier = hypothetical longevity amount and a CRSC ceiling (one of many)

Ron
