Hopefully this helos for answers. An idea of an amount whether big or small would be great

Also I believe my high 3 to be around 2786.33. That was based off my pay grade and time of service from the charts of 11,12 and 13 which was the year I got out.

Hello,

Estimate.

a. 1264/40% = 3160 high three
b. Your gross retired pay of 1264 is reduced to zero due to amount of VA comp
c. 6.5 AD yrs x 2.5% = 16.25% longevity multiplier
d. 3160 high three x 16.25% = 513.50 longevity portion of retired pay
e. CRSC at 40% = Even if you did not have dependents, the CRSC amount in VA comp tables is more than 513.50
therefore
f. Your CRSC based on the info you provided will be: 513.50

Ron
p.s. Good job in providing the info...especially the gross retired pay which allowed me to determine your high three with the COLAs that occured after you retired.

Hi @RonG , wondering if I can get an estimate on what I would expect were I to pursue CRSC. Figured I would post here since it was recently being discussed.

Thank you.

1.--Cite the gross retired pay on the most recent DFAS RAS.1a
The Gross retired pay on my DFAS RAS is $2,262.00.

1a.--Did you receive a DoD disability retirement (i.e., "Chapter 61")?
I did receive a DoD disability retirement.

2.--DoD disability percentage
My DOD disability retirement (Chapter 61) percentage shown in my retirement orders was 60%.

3. --Active duty years and months
My active duty equivalent shown on my retirement orders was: 12 years and 2 months

4. --VA compensation (All of the following):
a. percentage
; My VA Compensation percentage is 100%.
b. amount; The amount of my VA compensation is $3,838.51 (As of Dec 2021)
c. dependents by category and ages of dependent children.; My dependents for VA compensation are spouse and 3 children under 18.

d. Also provide information pertaining to any SMCs you receive.
N/A

5.--Projected or approved CRSC percentage by your service.
This I am uncertain of. I will be applying under the 'Unexplained illnesses associated with the Persian Gulf War' category for Asthma (60%), IBS (30%), Migraine and Tension headaches (50%), allergic rhinitis with nasal polyps (30%), and sinusitis (0%).

If it can be calculated with both the Primary condition to pursue as the Severe Persistent Asthma at 60%, as well as with the calculated percentage from my VA rated conditions at (I believe) 90%

6.--Whether you qualify for another type of retirement .
N/A

7.--Did you receive a REDUX/CSB payment?
I did not receive REDUX/CSB.

8.--Did you accept the Blended Retirement program option?
No

Hello @StealthscrapE Thank you for your perfect outline for the CRSC estimate.

Estimate based on the info you provided.

a. 2262/60% = 3770 High three average base pay
b. Your retirement pay of 2262 is reduced to zero by the amount of VA compensation
c. 12.17 AD x 2.5% = 30.43% longevity multiplier
d. 3770 x 30.43% = 1147.21 longevity portion of your retired pay and maximum CRSC. However, it could be less.
e. Your CRSC will be the lesser of the longevity portion of retired pay (1147.21) OR the amount associated with the CRSC percentage approved by your service. Visit the VA compensation tables for determining the amount approved by your service is at ---->LINK
f. You can compare the 1147.21 maximum CRSC with the VA table amounts for the different percentages in the scenarios you mentioned.
