Dual status Tech needs OPM help

I was awarded 40% at the MEB so of course being a dual status tech that means that I loss my GS position. Now for the question the HRO staff does not seem to have the answer to. According to the OPM web sight and what HRO is telling me I will be able to make 80% of my GS position. But the OPM web sight makes a point of stating that they have a different meaning of wages than the IRS but does not expand on what is considered wages.
I know if I move that I will be able to make 80% wages of whatever the local area allows.
The big problem is that I was offered a job in Germany and no one can tell me just what is considered income overseas. Housing, travel etc.
I called the OPM contact number and after 50 minutes on hold a man answered and asked me for my SSN. He told me that I was not in the system. I told him that I was still in but that my HRO could not answer my question. He then told me that I must go through my HRO and hung up on me.
I did read that I would have to report my earning to the OPM each year but no one can seem to get me a copy of said form or even the form number.
I wouldn't worry about going over the 80% but I will need to keep my insurance through OPM.
Thanks in advance
Chuck

Go to OPM's website and look up the FERS Handbook. There is an entire chapter on disability retirements and wages. I suggest putting your questions in writing to your HRO . They have contacts at OPM and should be able to get answers for you.

Thanks for responding! I have the handbook but no where in there that I have found lists what OPM considers wages. I also put my questions in writing to my HRO telling them that I really need a answer. The HRO rep put this information out to her HRO community and got a "I think" reply. When I told her that I needed a reference she said she would try another avenue. (That was 6 weeks ago). I went to her boss and got information that I new for a fact was wrong. I sent him my reference and he told me that he was sorry for giving me the wrong information. So now I am a little gun shy.

Try calling OPM at Boyers PA-ask for Sandy-she handles military matters.Explain your situation-she may help. Sorry-don't have the nuumber handy.

I am on TDRL because I have PTSD. I am rated at 80% and have been out since October 2009. I didn't want to get out of the Army but, I am hoping to go to the PEB for my TDRL re-exam and be fit for duty. I have not had any problems and have not had to go to the DOC's I am ready to go back to active duty. Does anyone think that it can happen, that they can find me fit for duty? Has anyone gone to get the exam? What should Iexpect at the exam? I have been working since I have been dicharged and went back to school to keep busy.

Hi not sure if you are still dealing with this but I found this reg about dual status
National Defense Authorization Act of 2008, Sec 511 states
Subtitle B: Reserve Component Management - (Sec. 511) Allows a military technician who loses dual (military and civilian) status as the result of a combat-related disability to be retained as a non-dual status technician as long as: (1) the disability does not prevent the person from performing the non-dual status function or position; and (2) the person is not disqualified from performing the non-dual status function or position because of performance, medical, or other reasons. Requires removal from such position no later than 30 days after becoming eligible for an unreduced annuity and attaining 60 years of ageSubtitle B: Reserve Component Management - (Sec.
