Fibro Freakout

My PCM just submitted my NARSUM Feb 13th and my commander sent up my CIS Feb 19th. I know I have a long road ahead of me but basically the point of me making this thread is because I feel absolutely clueless and feel like I should be doing something.

To provide some background on my situation I've been AD Air force since January 2020. October of 2023 I started being seen for my pain and I have been fighting ever since to find some kind of relief with no avail. After physical therapy, pain and spine specialists, and neurology my diagnosis are central pain syndrome (attributed to a syrinx on my thoracic spine (inoperable)) and fibromyalgia.

If anyone has tips on next steps, insight into the process, experiences with similar issues and/or ways to not go insane while going through this it would be greatly appreciated.

Patience is the only advice I can give you. Once you have signed your NARSUM, it becomes a waiting game. Everyone's time line is different, but expect to not hear anything for roughly 2 months. It is hard not to go insane waiting around, but that is all you can do.

Gostei porque tudo parece acessível e bem organizado.

On the medboard side, read up on the process and be ready. When they do your c&p exam you should answer like it is your worst pain day unless you really are trying to stay in.

On the fibryo side. Morn the loss of your abilities and learn how to pace your self. If your body says its time to stop listen and do not push through. Pushing through will make it worse in both the short and long term.
