Jarhead0724, Did you apply through the WW SSDI class on 5/28 at Pendleton? We may be on the same schedule. I got the same paperwork in the mail as you but waited until the last day to mail it in. No scheduled appts though. Haven't heard a word from them. I did not have my medical records for them, but all my VA stuff has been finished so hopefully they get all that info with no issue. I'll be watching for your update and hoping it's all good news!
Yes jlbbc, that was when/where I did it. I appreciate it & hope you the same! Has your pkg been sent out yet to IPEB? Mine went out 6/26 & IPEB received & logged it in on 7/6. I still haven't heard unfit/fit yet. My PEBLO checks on it every Friday. Maybe next week
I'm through the IPEB. Signed and agreed to 70 DOD/ 100 VA. I think that's what is called the DA199. My last day is end of Aug. Me physical last day is end of July. Using up my days over 60, plus my 20 house/job hunting days through Aug, then selling back my 60. Could be why they haven't requested any medical exams. Mine are all pretty recent thru the VA. I'll update when I hear something.

If you're selling back 60 days of leave, and you have already paid normal Fed income taxes for the year on your wages, you may want to temporarily consider increasing your marital status and/or exemptions.
My 60 days leave was going to get Fed pre-taxed at a 25% tax (28%?) on the gross leave figure, and I had already paid Fed tax on my enlisted wages for that year, and realized the Feds were going to withhold too much tax on my leave money!
So I went to MYPAY and changed myself from single and zero to a temporary increase of married and 5.
In my situation, the Fed tax was lower on my gross sale of leave, I got a slightly bigger check for my leave pay, and I broke even on my Fed tax to the IRS that year for all combined earned income.
This put about 900 additional bucks in my pocket from my sale of leave money that I received, and it helped me make my transition to retirement a bit easier while I was waiting for the DFAS retirement and VA money to begin paying me.
As soon as I got my leave money, I switched back to my regular tax exemption rate so DFAS could start taxing me again so I wouldn't owe money to the IRS that year.
Jlbbc, first off, congrats!! When was your board sent out? And how long for your VA ratings to come in? Mine was sent out on 6/26, accepted & logged by IPEB 7/6, still haven't heard Fit or Unfit. My PEBLO says they system still says IPEB
Thanks for the advice nwlivewire. I'll check out mypay and make any necessary changes.
Jarhead,
I went in IDES on 1/13/2015. It then went to PEB 5/1/2015. Got results 5/11/2015. Signed about a week later. So about 4 months total once I was in IDES.
I could be mistaken but I believe the VA did the ratings first. Then it went to PEB for 11 days. Now it's in some quality control or something after it was signed by me.
Indeed, as such, don't give the DoD any unvalidated reason(s) to potentially lower your DoVA generated rating(s) for any PEB-referred unfitting medical condition(s) while placement onto the military TDRL.
To that extent at a minimum, please remain positively proactive while in the DoD LDES, attend all scheduled medical appointments, and continued your prescription medication regime (if applicable).
That all said, take care and enjoy life to its fullest!
Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."
Thanks Warrior. That's my plan. Found out today where I'm going for mental health after I'm out. Happy with where I'm going so while it's still a pain, at least I get to go somewhere good.

Hey Jarhead0724,
How was today's appt? Like a C&P exam? Haven't heard anything at all from SSDI. I called and all they could tell me was that DOD sent medical papers on June 3. I decided to personally turn in my VA C&P papers last Friday since they did not have that info. They said they had my permission paper to get the files, but couldn't see if anyone actually requested them from the VA. Hopefully that means the DOD files were enough, but more than likely means my file is just sitting on someones desk collecting dust. Any news from your PEBLO?
The SSDI appt went at the same exact QTC office that my VA exams went. It wasn't bad, mainly just like a VA exam; no diagnosis, no treatments, just their reporting. The only thin I've been told from my PEBLO is that the IPEB found me unfit & that my package has been sent to the VA for ratings. I was told that they VA is taking roughly 30 days. It's been about 10 since unfit, so we'll see. Luckily I have a friend that's about a month ahead of me, so using his timeline as a rough quess.
I've been officially "relieved of all duties" which is great, gives me more time to focus on my PEB case... But at the same time, I've been denied SSDI... I didn't immediately appeal because I will be out of the army and moving three states to the west immediately afterwards... Does anyone know an outstanding SSDI lawyer in Boise, Idaho? I can google or look in the yellow pages, but I'd rather have stories and experience from fellow veterans......
Thought I'd share my small update since it applies to you Jarhead. My VA adviser recommended I share my PEB findings and MED board NARSUM with SSDI. Today I took that in and they scanned it in to my file. The SSDI person said WW findings were taking about 3 mos right now. So, we should expect something in the next 3 weeks. She verified they had 1000+ pages of my medical stuff from DOD. Lol poor soul who has to read that!
Thanks jibbc. I haven't included those at this time;however, here's the reason. If/when I get denied, and I appeal, I will ha the additional evidence of the PEB stuff. Then if it goes to ALJ, I'll have the VA findings too.
