Fort Lewis PEB

i think this whole process has been a load of crap. i was sitting next to a guy in the transpoc breifing today that has stage 3 bone cancer and if they dont get it he may only have a year to live and he has to do all this crap really? i know I am not in the army but that cant be right. why is it so hard to get what you need? and dont get me started on the still having to pt my husband that is on profile gets up at 5am every day to walk around the block and so does that guy. there is something very wrong with that. dont get me wrong the army has done a lot of good not only for my husband but also my brother who is a WO3. but there is something very wrong with a few of the systems here

It's the overall juvenile attitude in the military that, if you're injured, you're automatically a dirtbag. Regardless of how good you were previously. The Army openly discriminates against disabled Soldiers...it's disgusting.

Thanks for the numbers guys but I want to know are there any numbers to call for Fort Lewis, Washington. My peblo keep telling me that they are sending them emails everyday asking for my status and no one is answering, but I'm wondering why aren't they calling them?! I went to the Ombudsman and he's working with the Peblo's. Neither one of them can get an answer. So does anyone have a phone number I can call because again, I've been waiting since the beginning of May. That's when my Narsum got sent out. I have my ratings, I am just waiting on my 199.

PM me, I can help

Grizz, my buddy that just got medically retired did absolutely nothing with regard to promotion and his orders promoted him to E6 without him doing a thing.

My BDE S1 won't do anything for me due to me being flagged for weight. I'm hoping that I will get it automatically like he did.
Your flags are to be removed the day prior to you seperating, so you may still get promoted.

Does anyone know how long after you ets does it take to get your severance pay in hand?

I've read all sorts of different times. I would suggest doing a search on this site for severance pay.

MEB initiated April 2012
Narsum signed July 17
Found unfit by PEB August 12

Here's where it got weird. As some may remember from some of my posts, the VA didn't even RECEIVE my packet until November 10th! Who knows what could have been going on? Anyways, I get a call the day after Thanksgiving saying that my 199 is already ready. Rated and typed in 2 weeks!

Final day in the army December 14th.

That was very fast. I was on the same time line with you. However mines got kicked back by the reviewer in the pending decision stage...so it wasted a total of 30 days there but as of November 28 it was sent to PEB so hopefully I can sign my 199 by mid December which will be good because Im pretty sure things will slow up around the holidays

I was told by my MSC that they're working extra hard to get more cases completed before they all go on leave.
I knew that was going to happen. At first someone said they might slow up because of the holidays. I thought differently. I knew they would knock out more cases before the holidays. That is why I know my 199 will be ready by the end of this coming week.

I dont know whats going on... My packet went to the VA I believe on 7 Nov. Still haven't heard anything back from PEBLO, from VFW, Ebennies is worthless, AKO sucks.... SMH. I would have thought the VA would have had prelim ratings back already and I would be awaiting the 199.

My packet took a month sitting at the VA, before they took action. Also, Thanksgiving probably slowed it down. I feel your pain.

Unless you are expidited, plan on a month for the VA to take action, another month for the PEB to "receive" the VA's ratings, and additional 2-3 months to get your 199.

Goatbreath (as I recall) has been expidited. His packet has burned through the system. His packet is not the norm.

Well, How does one get expedited? My process up until this point has been fairly quick. If the Army wants to keep paying me what they are paying me to sit here... that's their problem. The smart thing would be to expedite those who are costing them a substantial amount of money by having them wait. Just my opinion.

I've been hoping for the same thing all along. I will still be shocked if I get mine before the holidays though.

Agree, but one must realize that DoD is the "gold standard" of socialized medicine. It doesn't care about the cost, first-in-is-the-first-out (unless expidited). Your wages have nothing to do with this system. If you are a reservist, than you are further delayed.

How do you get expidited? It is based on medical needs, and most are severely injured. You can't request it. Like the signs in every Emergency Department says, "Patients are seen by order of severity." They keep a tight-hold on who are designated expidited, because it further slows down the system for everyone else.

"If everything is important, than nothing is important."

Well if that's how it goes... oh well. I was told, after I alerted my PEBLO to my Unfit memo provided by a PEBLO on this site, that my ratings should be in by mid-Dec. Don't know how much truth there is with that, we will see.

Be careful about what you tell a PEBLO about information that you got on this site. If someone on this site helped you, don't rat them out! Your PEBLO didn't need to know, and that is a good way to get a good-bubba in trouble. Your PEBLO already knows that he isn't doing his job.

If anything call his boss, and then tell him/her what the PEBLO is not doing. They don't need to know what others have done for you. In intelligence, you never burn a good source. :(
