FRUSTRATED!!! IN NEED OF ADVICE!

2 weeks ago I emailed my PEBLO for an update on my status. It had been 8 weeks since my package was forwarded to PEB. Ebenefits show package "under review" with no updates or changes since 15MAY12. My PEBLO tells me my package is with the VA, so I must have been found "UNFIT". So I sit and wait.
Today, curious as to when I was actually found "UNFIT" and after reading many of your discussion on this process...I decide to email the PEBLO again...this time for a timeline and to see if she received a "letter" like some of you say the PEBLO gets after an "UNFIT decision is made and after the PEB notifies the VA. This is the correspondance below:

Mrs. XXXXX,

Just curious, do you have access to the date in which the PEB made
their preliminary findings and notified the VA? Also, I have been told that
the PEB notifies the member's PEBLO of the member's UNFIT findings at that
time as well. Do you have this letter in my file? If so, I would love to
have a copy for my records. Hope all is well for you.

This is the response receieved:

XXXXX,

I am not sure who told you that but that is incorrect. As stated in DTAP
class with Senior Chief XXXXXX, when your findings come back, it with filter
through him, he is a PEBLO as well but it will not come through me. He will
receive a letter from the PEB once your VA findings are complete. They will
not send him separate documentation. It is an integrated program, but you
will get all documentation from him once he receives it.

I can see in the system that the PEB has found an unfit finding as of
6/20/2012 but nothing is completed until the VA completes there part.

Ironically, I just received an email from the Comp and Pens section here and
they have scheduled you another appointment. The Regional office must be
missing some vital information in order for them to make a fair decision on
your compensation.

Your appointment is scheduled for 08/20/2012 @ 09:00 (Special Medical Exam
section - be here 30 min early) - It appears that they need more information
concerning your orthopedic claims.

Bring your medical record because all records I had has been shipped.

Please confirm appt.

Thanks

What the *%&@? Really? You are now notifying me not quite 2 business days before my appointment of this? And ONLY after I inquired about my status? As if this process is not stressful enough, and aside from the fact I feel like sh*t daily and still am expected to fuction and fulfill my role in the Navy daily as if nothing is wrong. Grrrr....I am so frustrated!
Ok, aside from the venting...What does this mean for me? A new exam? Why now? What can I expect? Have any of you gone through this after now 10 weeks of waiting on the PEB/VA process? Any thoughts?

I had a similiar situation happen. It had been 2 months since the VA had my paperwork, and I asked for an update. They then proceeded to tell me the VA was waiting on me to complete a psychiatric exam because I'd never had one in regards to my insomnia claim. I was like "WTF? So if I hadn't called to ask, my VA claim would just be sitting there?"

I know how you feel. My C&P exams were done back in may. My pepblo is a good corpsman, but he has had multiple knee surgeries in the last few months, and he has been in and out of the office. So I called a buddy of mine yesterday and he assigns ratings for the VA but in St Louis, and I am in New Orleans. So he told my yesterday that my package was received back in New Orleans VA from DC. So I thought good news, I must be getting an answer soon. I go check my mail today and there was a letter. I was so excited so I opened it on the spot, and it said I have 2 more appts at the VA hospital next friday. I am flying home next evening to visit family, and I might miss my flight because I am going to go to those appts. All the VA needs is one little reason to screw us. I am a supervisor where I work, and I am active Navy, so believe me I know the feeling. I am just so frustrated with this whole process. Atleast if I knew my % then I would have some hope, but I dont know a damn thing. I have Crohns, diagnosed sever PTSD, and among 19 other items, so I know that they will take care of me in the long run. Just tired of getting the run around. Ready to go home. Good luck with everything and be safe. Navy Buddy

Thanks Navy buddy. Hopefully this will be good for us in the end. :\ I am most stressed not knowing how much longer this whole process is going to take! I just wish I knew so I could start planning my future. In May, my doctor told me I needed surgery and sooner would be better than later...but going through this process, that is on hold as well. So every day I suffer through. I tell you, if I didn't already have anxiety issues ...I would for sure after all this is said and done! Good luck next week.

Tony, where are you at in the process? Have you heard anything at all? I am trying to establish some sort of new timeline now. :(

Well my VA ratings have been done since 9 May, and I've been waiting for the PEB to draw up my DOD ratings and send them to my PEBLO since then. I just hit 8 months since my narsum was signed, this week. :(

Wow, that is a terrible turn around time Tony. :\ When my narsum was signed in May, my PEBLO told me to expect to hear something in 3-4 months. I am so discouraged and tired of the system...no one seems to be on the same page.
Hopefully you will get the answers your are looking for soon. Good luck to you!

Sorry guys, as I have said before the scheduled timeline that is supposed to happen is just a guidline, there are no regs out there that hold these people accountable for anything on this system. It's disappointing that this keeps happening. :(

Anyone out here have a rough idea for me? I was rated 100 P&T VA and 80 by the Army. Im now waiting for DA 199 any idea how long it takes. Found out the rating two weeks ago from my PEBLO. Also, might they try to TDRL me? Also I have 19 years active and 24 total years? Just trying to make sure I'm not losing my mind! Also here is a flow chart that might help some of you

application.pdf

The process took me now 13 months, I got D199 yesterday with a 50% from Army and 90% from VA. My VA claim was finished in June with the rating of 90%. The 199 gives you a good estimate of your money from DOD side, with a dollar amount on the 199.

I don't know if the other Navy guys are getting the "unfit letter." Most of the Army and Air Force bubbas that I've seen with the preliminary "unfit letter." Has any of the Navy guys seen this? Just curious.

We (AF) don't get an unfit letter. Our unfit memo is sent with our package directly from AFPC (PEB) to the VA, with no stops in between. Unless we hound our PEBLO, VA MSC or the VA 1-800 line....we don't know anything until our 199 comes back.:( For some reason, they like to keep everything a secret from us until the final/offical news comes back (199)....which is a bunch of red tape bs if you ask me.
