I was med boarded from the Army and placed in TDRL status for PTSD and given 50%. During my first and final evaluation I was rated at 0% and given severance pay. I am currently receiving 70% from the VA. I tried telling them that I wanted to go back into active duty and even appealed my doctors findings but had zero success. I would still like to return to active duty at some point. Is this possible? If I am able to be found fit by the VA can I appeal the Army's decision and repay my severance? My RE code is currently a 4 and was told that even though I am no longer TDRL, I will not be getting a new DD214 to reflect my new status. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The VA has nothing to do with fit findings. When did you receive the 0% rating from the Army? What was your VA rating when the Army rated you 0%?

Sorry for the long delay in the reply. I was rated at 0% by the Army on July 5, 2011. At that time I was already rated by the VA at 70%. Looking over my new PEB finding, it says I was rated at 0% and paid severance and separated from service. Unfortunately, it also says that my condition has not improved to the extent that you are fit for duty. So here is my new question, since the Army took me off TDRL, paid me severance, separated me, and pretty much closed the book on me, is there any way to be found fit for duty? Again, sorry for the huge delay on my reply.

Unlikley. What is the reenlistment code on your DD2114? You would have to meet tougher entry standards vice retention standards.

The bigger issue is the fact the PEB rated you 0% given a standing 70% VA rating. When you were placed on the TDRL, did you go through the legacy DES or the Integrated DES?
