Sorry, I could not help myself. My paragraph has been deleted.

@RonG ,
I understand. Humankind has advanced quickly over the past 100 years. From chlorinated water, figuring out nuclear reactions (or lack of controlling), to the medical community accepting aseptic technique. I’m going to throw it out there that I do have a MS in Biology, but other more harmful viruses and bacteria that affect the military in our numerous deployed locations. Marburg virus is hitting the news lately…but no one seems to care about that.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. My deleted remarks were facetious. I am in favor of the vaccine, but not everyone else shares that position.

Here is a good article about vaccine long term effects and the science behind it. And it’s NOT from FB!

Directly form the article referenced.
“Many people worry that these vaccines were ‘rushed’ into use and still do not have full FDA approval — they are currently being distributed under Emergency Use Authorizations,” Goepfert said. “But because we have had so many people vaccinated, we actually have far more safety data than we have had for any other vaccine, and these COVID vaccines have an incredible safety track record. There should be confidence in that.”

You know I am not telling anyone what do to and I know being military you are owned, no doubt (primary facts here). However, your source here is still an opinion piece and does not hold any primary substance. Just because you did not pull it from FB means nothing, still a college giving feedback based on anecdotal evidence, not facts. The numbers being quoted in the article are rooted in theory based on minimal research (why it was pushed out) and so far have not held up in actual application (hints people still getting COVID). Like I said my stance is personal, but lets not be teaching with farce data. Thank you.

Hello,

You make good points about the article. My comments that follow pertain to only the significance of the difference between information coming from a major university and information coming from Facebook, other social media, and opinions from cable networks.

Opinions (mine):

Statements from a respected institution of higher learning can have consequences if found to be incorrect. The reputation of the university, college, or school can suffer damage among other things.

Statements from social media sources or talking heads on cable television usually don't result in repercussions if the "information" is found to be non-factual.

Of course, my opinions have little value since RonG is actually a bot. ;)

Finally, I think this thread has run its course. The initial question has been addressed. I belong to only one other board and discussions like this often live forever. I saw one yesterday where a Veteran commented on one of my remarks from ten years ago.

Ron,

First off bot or not you are a stud my friend, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. However in regard to colleges being held to the fire, you must look at the context this source is written in. Terms like according to CDC and up to this percentile, create a buffer. I agree there is typically more at stake, but with COVID we have seen as long as one narrative is pushed, that is unlikely to come to fruition. Without people asking questions and calling BS we see less of this, and currently unlike FLU cases, its at an all time high. Either way, I agree the question has been answered on this post, lets call this good.

You might not have looked earlier in the thread but it wasn't my article. It was used by another member and i took the bait and looked at it and then quoted info in the article.

Like the great BOT RON G said...this conversation is everywhere and there is really no end. I'm going to stop chiming in on this thread. I'd rather go back to helping with members PEB questions as i feel that has a greater benefit to this forum than does a COVID vaccine convo.

Thread locked. Opinions stated. Let's get back to PEB stuff.
