I need advice

Hello everyone this is my first post on here. I sustained a bad back injury early in my career which has left me on a PEB board as a LCPL in student status. Today I received some news that made me pretty angry and I don't know what the next move is. My Med board was set into motion 13 OCT 2015 and I finished my VA appointments by 4 NOV 2015. From there I waited for the results to come back and my PEB to be sent to DC which didn't happen until 7 JAN 2016. I was told the timeline on a decision of fit or unfit from the DOD would be 2-8 weeks and I called my PEBLO at the 2 week and 4 week mark to check in on the status of this process only to be told he had no updates for me. Last week was week 7 of my package at DC and I asked why there were still absolutely no updates so he agreed to call the PEB people and told me to give him a week to figure it out and call back today, 29 FEB 2016. He informed me there was a "receipt error" of my package and he had to resend it last Thursday 25 FEB 2016 and I was essentially starting this anxious waiting process over again. Not knowing what is to come in my young Marine Corps career is very stressful and I am wondering how something like this could possibly slip through the cracks for 7 weeks only to be uncovered by my persistent calling. Also is there anything I can do now? Or am I just supposed to accept this "receipt error"? Has anyone heard of something like this before? Thank you for taking the time to read this any advice is appreciated, I am trying to stay very patient.

I am almost 3 months ahead of you. I haven't reached out to the PEBLO and I've heard nothing. I think I'm unfit because my Ebenefits account now has a historical claim. I believe the only time they are REQUIRED to call you is when your ratings are finished. I would be prepared mentally to keep waiting. If you want updates, call but expect a slow process. I'm just grateful the longer it takes the more time to pad the savings account.

My husband is also a Marine (west coast). Sent to Peb end of Oct. Unfit came back end of Jan. (3 full months). It has been a month since found unfit. No ratings. We were told it could be a few more months. Just waiting, saving money, and preparing for our transition. Applied to grad school, continuing medical appointments, therapies, etc. It may take 3 full months to come back fit or unfit, and another 3 months for ratings. Then more transition time. Some cases go faster, but ours has been slow.

I cant speak for the marines but stay on their ass and check into your services defense council to check on things also, from what i've seen the marines have the worst customer service type crap in this process you may be able to get ahold of someone and hear a lot more info on your situation than your current pEB manager feels like looking up for you

I call my PEBLO pretty much weekly. You need to be your own advocate, because nobody else will. I would advise anyone to do the same.

How did your husband find out he is unfit?
