I went through the IDES MEB process and received 90% VA rating and 70% DoD. I was medically retired in early 2025. However, today I received the following email:

"I am emailing you on behalf of the U.S. Army Physical Disability Agency (USAPDA), Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) Branch. This is an attempt to contact you regarding your TDRL periodic physical re-examination. As a member of the Army's Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL), IAW AR 634-40, paragraph 4-33, sub-par (c)1, you are required to undergo periodic re-examination(s) as ordered by the Secretary of the Army at least every 18 months. This requirement exists even if you have waived your Army retired pay in favor of Veteran's Affairs Compensation.
Your case has been reviewed. Your medical documentation deems sufficient and consistent to process your case for Direct Physical Evaluation Board (PEB). This step expedites your case and will allow a sooner proceeding toward a final determination of your TDRL status. Per the DA Form 199, Section VI, we will need your most current contact information to assign you to an Army PEBLO."

Was just hoping someone could shed some light on this situation. I am in a unique situation as I moved overseas. Where I live now I have access to a VA clinic and still receive ongoing treatment, medication, etc. Is this re-examination going to be all-encompassing or just for the issue that started the MEB? Am I going to be able to complete this process via a virtual examination or can I go to the VA clinic that I have access to overseas? Am I going to get a totally new PEBLO during this?

Sorry, just a little lost on what to expect.

The USAPDA is informing you that its staff has reviewed your records and deems them sufficient to adjudicate your condition without an exam; in other words, you will not need an exam. However, if you do not like the findings upon reevaluation, then you should prepare to appeal the finding.

When i was on TDRL and it was time for my evaluation for PDRL, they assigned me a different PEBLO than I had when I MEB'd. But, since I was still receiving care through the VA i ended up not needing to go to a physical reexamination, but I was told that they would have paid or reimbursed for my travel to an MTF. this was a while ago though. But it seems that you won't need an exam and they just want updated contact info just in case.
