IDES Timeline

I’ve spoken with the IDES paralegal but even the answer they give me is “still at the PEB I can’t give you anymore info than that” I’m kind of getting pissed off because I see everyone else getting actual details about their cases and the only effing answer I get is “at the PEB, call back in a couple weeks”
Ask them to give you specifics on where it's at in the peb process. They get the specifics so if he says he doesn't have any specifics he's lying to you

As soon as I get my orders I'm going to file an ice against my peblo for straight lying to my face.

I’m filing an ice complaint too after I get my results. Pisses me off that I’ve asked for specifics to 3 different people that have access to it and none of them have told me the truth after reading that you guys actually get specific details. I’m worried mine is lost somewhere and just want some info as to where it’s at to verify it’s going through the proper places.

Accepted on April 16th; Got word back today on my results. Apparently it's a P-FIT (not expected or wanted) so we will see how I really feel after going over everything tomorrow morning.

What were your referred conditions if you don’t mind me asking?

PTSD- Chronic, and Elevated Liver Enzymes that prevent me from doing my job as an aviation structural mechanic. Some background is that I am over 20 years in, but I do not have a pending or approved retirement date, and I'm not within 12 months of HYT (I actually had to cancel a reenlistment when I was put on third-period LIMDU), so I shouldn't have been presumed fit.

Good news you get to serve out the rest of your contract right?

Hi there. I am in a similar situation.
Here are the rough timelines.
June 18, 2021 : VA exam completed
July 20th Narsum signed
Aug 23 : The PEB found me "unfit" and has forward your case to the disability rating activity site (DRAS) for a rating decision.
Sep 7: VA closed my case, and website says they sent me the decision letter. I should be getting something in 2 weeks. I can see the rating in ebenifits and I am satisfied with the VA proposed ratings. Lets see what PEB decides, hopefully accepts VAs rating.
Now as per my PEBLO From 23 August, this phase on average takes 90-120 days to complete. Once the VA completes its part, they will send my VA Decision Letter to me. The VA will also send the ratings back to the PEB for completion of my Informal PEB Proceedings (DA Form 199). Upon receipt of my informal PEB findings, I will be contacted.

So, I dont know what to make of this. I hope I dont have to wait for another 120 days. Thats just crazy.

Am I the only one who is concerned by this? How do we know they're not going to try and down play our problems and return us to duty when we cannot even preform them?
My worry is that they’ll just deem a bunch of people Fit so the choice is accept it or appeal it and they’ll get to the Formal PEB eventually. But they will lower the numbers in the iPEB. Makes their iPEB numbers lower, sheds some cases, but now the FPEB will be pushed even longer.

Not really. My contract ends on October 31, and that was after my contract expired on April 30. I was medically retained pending PEB findings... Now I either have to appeal, or take it and rush my retirement request through.

I have the same concern. Do you believe this is an optional thing or it is now the new mandate for everyone? No one seems to have a straight answer.

From what someone else pointed out, this memorandum is for the PRESIDENT of the board to use at his/her discretion of whether they'll use a medical officer or not and it's valid for one year from signature. We won't get a choice in the matter.
Yeah, i was wondering why everyone was freaking out. It is just a letter to the PEB saying they can use other officers to adjudicate IPEB cases. The PEB is still responsible for the integrity of their reviews, but they need to work through cases because they're getting calls from Congressman and Inspector Generals and shit lol. I just do hope that they do keep doing their due diligence and don't just run through cases making people FIT just to push it off to the next round.

So are people notified of findings on Tuesdays along with the package status report or are the findings sent out daily?
I think findings can happen anytime, whenever they finish them. Tuesday’s is just the status report. Which is stupid because I’m sure it just says “with Medical Officer” for everyone’s so what’s the fucking point.

From what my Peblo was saying, they get daily reports. only on those that have status changes. kind of weird

My PEBLO did confirm today that the PEB got authorization for more people to help so hopefully things start moving a lot quicker. One guy she works with, who has worked there for years, has never seen it this backed up and has never dealt with this many pissed off people. Lol.
