If you are DOD TDRL/PDRL retired with less than 20 years of service please read.

Seems like a lot of our politicians, veteran or not, tend to lean to the flakey side after a certain amount of time in offense. My guess is lobbyists and other elitists influences have weight.

So looking at the MAJ Richard Star Act from last session compared with this session there is reason for optimism.

Previous session which ended 12/31/20:
US House: 101 Co-Sponsors
US Senate: 31 Co-Sponsors

Current session which still has a little less than a year left:
US House: 180 Co-Sponsors
US Senate: 55 Co-Sponsors

Making head way. We've gotta pump those numbers up though. Those are rookie numbers.

I reached out to Senator Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley yesterday. I received an email response back that their staff would like to schedule a follow-up conversation.

They are both on the Armed Forces Committee. I also have family members that live in MO(Hawley) and AR(Cotton) call their respective offices. Followed by my family in SC and AL reach out to their congressmen/women.

Damn homey you are on fire.... you sure you aren't a lobbyist....

Heard back from my senator, Mike Braun, about his commitment to the bill. His email basically explained the Star Act and where it was. I never got a firm commitment from him on his support of the bill. My response will ask for the confirmation of support.

Literally just sent Representative Carter of Texas another message to co-sponsee it.
It's kind of crazy all these so called "support our vets" Republicans like John Carter haven't signed on... my Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee who is the biggest attention hog hasn't signed on either... you would think this would be a slam dunk in terms of support. It's not controversial in any way...

Call her and get friends and family to call. Forget a "Squeaky wheel", let's get a convoy of squeaky wheels!

We've really got the ball rolling here. Excited to see how it plays out in the future.

Looking at other bills on the house website just because it has met the threshold of 218 votes it still has be put on the calendar and the speaker has to allow a floor vote on it. Then if it passes the house obviously it has to go to the senate. Hopefully this is what happens. Looking at both bills the senate version (S.344) and the house version (HR.1282) they don't reference each other as related bills. You would think they would link the two bills together and show them related. I find this interesting and could pose a problem if it does pass the house and it sits in a senate committee and dies on the vine.

There were several bills I looked up (not related to veterans) that had overwhelming support in the house and passed with over 411 votes sit in the senate..

Again, I think the momentum is there and that's great, but it still has a long road to go even once it hits 218 co-sponsors...

Keep up the fire....

When talking to Senators and Congressmen, I have encountered they have stated a linkage does exist. ( Reference the attached document) As it stands in the Senate with 55, it has a strong chance of passing. Our current administration and the well-known names that have signed on in support of this favors the speaker allowing it to be voted on.

I have been shocked to see some of the names that support this.
