In need of some guidance

Hello everyone, I wanted to reach out through this forum because I'm in need of some advice.

on 21 July I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by the Rheumatologist and my MEB was initiated by my PCM on 27 Aug however it was returned due to MRDP cannot be determined for stabilized condition when definitive diagnosis and treatment/prognosis are pending completion of workup. On 31 Aug it was reinitiated by my PCM as the medical documents were all in there however it was returned again stating previous return o 27 Aug was not addressed. I also had a biopsy conducted and today I received the results that it came back positive for small fiber neuropathy. I gave all my medical documents from the rheumatologist to my PCM and now he is hesitant to resubmit. Can anyone give me some guidance on what else more I can do to get this process going as I am currently unable to work or even do PT? I appreciate the help in advance.

Looks like your PCM did not properly rule out other conditions via more testing. Remember Fibro is diagnosed after ruling out other diseases and by your statement you are still going through additional testing your Rheumatologist jumped the gun diagnosis you too soon.

I gotcha, they have done multiple exams, blood work, x-rays, MRIs and its been going on since March of this year, I have also been on medication for Fibromyalgia as that's what my PCM thought it was since May and in June was when he decided to refer me to the specialist and she reviewed all previous exams, requested additional blood work, x-rays and a biopsy, once that happened she diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and waited for the biopsy to also diagnosis me with small fiber neuropathy. Not sure what more I can do?

I know where you are coming from but with Fibro there always seems to be some doctors that want additional testing, some will flat out just disagree with the diagnosis. I recommend going to PubMed and researching any additional testing that can be done that you can have your providers set up.

Thank you, I will certainly check this out. I appreciate it

I recommend you talk to the person that sent your file back. This prevents guessing what is in his/her mind.

Thats also a good point! I just wasn't sure if I could contact them directly as my PCM told me I could try and go through Patient Advocacy, which I have no idea what that is or what they do.

The patient advocate would not be in that loop.

Years ago a large military organization put a plan up to the 4-star. He said he didn't like it, nothing more. They crafted two more plans and in turn he said he didn't like them. Finally the 2-star ask the 4-star what be wanted. His reply, I liked the first plan's details, but not the name you chose. So take the first plan and rename it X and I will sign it.

We waste lots of time!

Quick question for everyone, my case finally has been move forward, I am finishing up all my VA appointments this this month. What should I expect in regards to timelines after that?
