My MEB package was sent out 3 weeks ago. In the meantime i was just diagnosed with RA. Should this new info be added? If so what do i need to do. Tried to get a hold of my PCM. I left the info with her nurse, she said she would tell her. From my prev. post, i have allot of things im being boarded for so i figured they may as well know about this if its going to help my case. Thank you all for any advise.

Hello, Ronald, that is a good question. Iam going through an AF PEB as well, and have developed conditions since my PEB was submitted. I know RA is a serious conditon. I think Jason or MAParker will probably chime in and let you know, I need to know as well. It may mean a letter and the new med findings submitted to the PEB Pres. ??? Wish I could be more help. Please post any new developments, as many of us are reading this forum. Yours Truly, Jim H.:)

Talk with your PEBLO to send an addendum of/to your diagnosis.

ronald,
i have the same issue, somewhat. i had my MEB conducted for my back and residual issues related to it. then i had the RA/fybro thing pop up plus seizures. my PCM did a memo for me to add that included all the issues that i am currently being treated for. i gather all the additional info. that you can and contact your PLEBO or POC for your IPEB. also, if you plan on fighting it to the formal you can also bring it up there, with all the additional info. @ you "full and fair" hearing:D. good luck!!!

Thanks for the info fellas. Hopefully i can get a hold of my PCM, but i will go the PEBLO route also. I guess i should have another LOD initiated for the RA?? Will keep you all posted. Still have LOTS of questions.

jim h...Hope this info helps your situation.

Not much luck getting this new diagnosis to the PEB yet. What happens if this info doesnt make it to the IPEB in time. Do i have to start the process all over again? Hope Not!

Thanks for all your good advise.

Some one is always here! Thanks Tucci... Was hoping I dont have to go the FPEB route. I think the RA can explain some of my other symptoms so they can see the Big Picture. IDK? I will be up all night again due to Prednisone and these RA meds.

Ronald,

You can submit info anytime up until they decide your case at AFPC/APDA/CORB. But it is best to get them additional info as early as possible so they will have it to consider as early as possible.

Thanks for your info Jason, Just spoke with the MEB officer and was told that my my package would have to be sent back and we would have to start all over again in order to add this new info. Didnt think this is true, so im still trying to get a hold of my PCM to get this added. Was up last night trying to find some Reg on this. Thanks again for your help. Will let you all know....

Ronald,

It is possible that the IPEB kicked it back for lack of the additional info, or the MTF recalled the case. So, while it is not neccesary for them to start over, they can. Even though it can be an inconvenience to have to wait again, it is probably better for your case that they thoroughly document everything.

Best of luck!

That makes sense, could be the case. Thanks for that info. Ill wait to see and keep you posted...

Jason,

Was just informed today over the phone that my PEBLO and my PCM are not willing to recall my PEB to add the RA diagnosis. They said that they would have to start all over again. I did mention the AFI and my PCMs nurse said sorry. Im not sure where to go from here? Should I press this issue? I have 4 other medical problems that Im being boarded for also. IS the diagnosis of RA serious enough to make a difference? Any advice? Thank You.

Ronald,

As a baseline answer, you want it included. But, peeling back the onion a bit, the question to me is do these conditions impact your duties (for the fitness finding) and do you suffer ratable symptoms? If it is very minor, I don't know how much it matters. But if you have significant limitations and symptoms, I would press the issue.
