I just got my MEB results back from the MEB. My case has now being forwarded to IPEB, timeliness are below.
Both conditions were found unfit Asthma and CRPS.
My PCM agree with unfit also.
??????QUESTIONS????
1) What is the timeline for getting my results?
my PEBLO stated 10-12 wks, however, she also stated that she has been getting them back in 6 wks lately.
PEBLOs answer sounds good. Your lucky, last year this time they were taking 3-4 months.
2) Since all have agreed MEB, PCM and CC for unfit, will the IPEB change their minds?
Only the IPEB can determine fitness, not the other way around. A finding of fitness is possible, but not likely.
3) what kind of seperation should I expect to get? TDRL, PERM, Severance?
Too many unknown variables (ie severity, medicine, type of medicine, etc). No one knows you like you, or what's been documented in your NARSUM. With that knowledge in hand, go the the VA tables and make your best guess.
4) Is there anything else I should be doing while waiting for final results?
Learn your entitlements inside out and KNOW what rating you should be getting. If it doesn't come back favorable, be prepared for another 1-2 month wait as your case is appealed to the PEB. Don't be your own lawyer at the PEB or place trust in the military lawyers if it comes to that. Hire a professional.
5) Can I get now get a copy of my Med records to take them to the VA or do I have to wait until the IPEB results come back?
You have an entitlement to any and all of your records anytime, and you should already have copies at this point. You need to know what's written in them so you can find discrepancies and bring them to the attention of your care providers. Don't send them to the VA unless you're certain they're correct, or you'll ending fighting with the VA down the road. Become the expert on your injury/illness and the wording in the VASRD tables. If the wording in your records doesn't match what's in the tables--you might have a problem. Don't get all excited and gleeful about the first lowball offer they present you--especially if you should be getting a retirement and not a severance package. Don't let that light at the end of the tunnel blind you. That severance check will be gone in the blink of an eye, but a permanent retirement will be provide you with income the rest of your life. You see that word I underlined? That is one very important word you should have been ensuring was written in your medical records.
FOR CRPS, your NARSUM should look something like this:VA Code: 8699 & 8621
"RSD, left foot. This is an analogous code developed IAW VARSD 4.20. Soldier underwent left ankle arthroscopy, (etc). Soldier developed severe, postoperative pain that was consistent with RSD and CRPS. He underwent local injections as well as lumbar sympatheic blocks without relief. He describes constant dysesthesis and sharp pain with movement of his left ankle. Neurology consultant noted color changes in the foot and extreme sensitivity to palpation. While performing the NCS, the Soldier had extreme pain in his ankle and intolerable pain in his EHL stimulation that limited the study. There is visible atrophy in the left calf, hyperalgesia, ruborous skin color with swelling. Radiographs showed mild degenerative changes. ROM (limited by pain) of the left ankle showed a dorsiflexion of 15 deg, and plantar flexion of 20 deg. Soldier manages the pain with opioid medications. Soldier is unable to perform APFT, etc"
If you had a bone scan or xrays, hopefully those records went with your package.
Don't trust that anyone is going to do this for you, or that anyone has your best interests at heart. You have to be your own advocate and take care every step of the way.
