I was found medically disqualified for PTSD and DDD. I am an 11B serving as a recruiter and this whole process for me was started on 06 NOV 2012. My case went to the PEB on 16 JAN 2013. From what I understand I should find out something in 120 whether fit/unfit...correct? Also, is 2 months fast to get to the PEB? seems like this is going extremely fast!!!

You should be notified thru your PEBLO that you were found Fit / Unfit. If found unfit the PEB sends your case to the VA for ratings. You do not sign for anything if found unfit at this stage. Once your ratings are completed the VA sends them back to the PEB who will then do the 199 and send to your PEBLO. At this point, you will have ten days to make your elections. (If you have not spoken to Soldier's Counsel, I would highly recommend)

Ideally, it should take 120 days or less for the PEB to be completed but there are factors that affect that timeline, such as incomplete PEB packets, missing SM information/medical and administrative documentation, and the amount of time it takes the VA to get a preliminary rating back to the PEB. In my experience, 2 months is not fast to get to the PEB if you have a good PEBLO who is proactive in working with the unit CDRs/1SGs, MEB physicians and MSCs to get all of the required documents to complete the PEB packet.

I was found unfit on 24 JAN 2013, which my PEBLO never told me about. I called him to ask yesterday what's going on and he said "oh I didn't tell you"? He said my stuff was at the VA getting ratings. So by my calculations, I should be out of the Army by July.....Am I correct on this???

Probably sooner than July. It is quite possible you are out by end of April. :) But ya never know. And, yes, your case has been moving extremely fast up to this point.

WOW! End of April? That's scary! And if I have 60 days of leave, I could take that terminal leave right? Which would make it June/july timeframe?

Yes, you can take terminal leave. And, if retired, you are eligible for PTDY of up to 20 days! :)
