As title says looks like like the FY 2026 budget and NDAA Maj Richard Star act has traction. Bipartisan support,

Contact your congressional reps.

I contacted all 3 of my reps. This would impact about 50k veterans who are getting taxed by having their CRSC reduced.
The text seems to read if you have any CRSC rated disability and are chapter 61 medically retired you will get all your retirement you lose to VA offset under current rules and computations.

For me this could be significant, I still lose about 40% of my retirement with max CRSC. So I know there are some that could see much more.

Estimates this will impact about 50k disabled veterans, about 1/3 of CRSC recipients. CBO says costs are estimated at $10 billion over 10 years or about $1 billion a year. I am going to be blunt and say this I think is an inflated estimate. That means this would have to increase CRSC annual payments by an average of $20000 per veteran. That’s 1666.0 a month. First off this is nothing. DHS wants to spend probably an underestimated $3 billion to paint the border fence black. Which will likely then need to be repainted in 5 years or less, for $4 billion. For the few in congress complaining of the costs and saying their needs to be an offset, well I do not recall such being demanded when at the height of Iraq it was costing $2.5 billion… a day.

I wonder if they subtract current crsc that will no longer be received and saved when adding MRSA addition to the budget. Plus I’m sure if you have to do something to get it 10% won’t bother or won’t know.

100% will never pass. Its purpose is to buy votes from veterans year after year for the sponsors. With absolutely zero intent of passing.

Go count the hundreds of billions we recently spent on Ukraine, Israel and Argentina. The U.S. pays Ukraine military pensions! Congress is currently looking at doubling the 20 billion we gave argentina last month to 40 billion. The 600+ billion in tariffs are now being tapped for snap and wic. The money is there but not for veterans.

Nobody cares about the major Richard shit act.

What if the government decided to retroactively change the rules on disability pay, affecting thousands of veterans? How would you navigate the emotional and financial fallout of such a decision, especially if you're relying on those funds for basic living expenses? Can we unite our voices to advocate for a more transparent and fair system?

Thats one way to get our pensions as it is a $ for $ reduction.
