MEB/PEB

Just a helpful tip; MEB/PEB

Assume you are the MEB/PEB adjudicator and you are looking at all the medical evidence and non-medical evidence on a Soldier (you).

Bottom line; if you want to avoid headaches ensure the medical documentation tells the honest truth about your condition (leaving no key issues out). Also DONT assume they will be looking at all the medical evidence page by page.

From experience I had each doctor (specialists) write out what medical conditions I had (one by one) and how it affected me so a "Rock" could understand it. No freakin grey area.

I also had second opinions/multiple tests to elevate any doubt.

Last thing; I got a letter from my supervisors spelling out how I performed before and how I am since the conditions arouse. Cant help if you were jacked up before the ailments (if this is the case).

Last thing; I went to my pharmacy and requested a copy of all the legal drugs I used and tried.

You are your best advocate. When the law, regulation or whatever is not utilized Jason can come in to use his profession to help.

*Patience is a virtue; this process is far from perfect but it is what it is. Meaning; during this trying time focus on telling the story with true consistent facts.

*Kill your PEBLO will kindness and anyone else that you deal with. No one wants to deal with a pain in the a##. Let the lawyer fight with professionalism and tact to get your point across if needed.

You attempt to go to a gun fight with a knife than you will lose!!

It's really refreshing to read your thread. While this site is overflowing with valuable information, though I keep seeing alot of nonproductive complaining too. Where are you at in this process?

Good advice, yes patience is hard but much needed. Time is important and the more you do not think about it, the faster it will move. Documentation is the key. Thank god i was evaluated when they put me in the WTU, this allowed for the most recent radiology reports, they didnt want to do surgery on my knees or back, so they recommended MEB. I didnt ask for it, they asked me if i was ready for it. My MEB dr was pretty good at making sure key points are put on the NARSUM and used the VA exam to help add to the report.

I have been medically retired by the PEB and received the highest percentage you can get on the DOD side. I am very grateful. My last day in the military will be the 29 June 12.

Honestly; anyone going through this must realize ALL are stressed out based on the unknowing.

Also look out about a year and half until all is done. Some will be faster and some will take longer. Also you can elect to waive the MEB and be discharged if you want out that bad.

Have some looking into the future which is reasonable ie school/job. However before this process you still owe your contract obligation until it is finally adjudicated.
