I'm about to start my med board referral on Wednesday August 2nd. I'll try to keep this updated. has anyone had any experience med boarding from Korea? I'm getting med boarded for my back pain/ nerve pain.
How did the process go for you time wise? Like getting the narsum approved and getting contacted by your case manager?I'm getting med boarded referral 27 July, right now waiting on my "A" code to be removed so I can get orders to SRU.
It suprisingly moved fast for me. once my case manager had my packet it was moved to Air Evac and this is where I am stuck. I have a code for "ineligible for future assignemt " due to my retirement. So I have to get it removed so they could forward my packet to Fort Sam and then i get orders to SRU. What stage are you?How did the process go for you time wise? Is there a reason you got that code? My pcm said my narsum packet would be done yesterday so now I guess im waiting for the LT colonel to approve it. Not sure how long that took for you. But hopefully get a call from the case manager by next week. Oh it took my pcm and BH about a week to complete and send my NARSUM
Ahhh I see due to retirement. I'm only in 5 years so shouldn't have to worry about that lol. Just wish there was more info online for this process for Korea and the sru unitsIs there a reason you got that code? Okay yea im tracking the SRUs im hoping for Stewart seeing as i from Florida and that's close. Not sure if they have any in the state of Florida though. My PCM said the LTC should sign his portion by the end of the week, but you know how the army goes, hurry up and wait. I'm just hoping it doesn't take the case manager too long to contact me after the LTC signs. Mines for lower back pain and nerve pain in my legs. You know any info about the SRU? like what do you do there lol? just sfl tap and your med appointments? The case manager is Ms Wade, she will give you about 4 documents the 4th one is just a word document of all SRUs. You have to pick your Top 3. They want to send you to your HOR or someplace close to where you want. The LTC signed my stuff pretty fast. I have BH & Diabetes. I also got a P3 in lower back. Once your Narsum is approved it will go fast for you.
I agree it sucks that its 2023 nothing about MEB process from Korea. I have been informed if the code cant be removed I will start MEB in Korea.
From what I've heard its Accountability Formation and then you go to your appointments and at the end of the day you let your Squad Leader know of your status (I would think each SRU has its own way of doing things). In the beginning of MEB is a bunch of classes or briefings then going through each stage. I say this because its a matter of public knowledge from what I have seen from others posts on MEB and timelines. (I'm no expert though).Okay yea im tracking the SRUs im hoping for Stewart seeing as i from Florida and that's close. Not sure if they have any in the state of Florida though. yep, got it removed. The paperwork, I filled says 30-90 days to leave here. There is also a part for comments. I wrote I am ready to leave asap!. My coordinator told me it averages around 45 days.Awesome so you got your code waived? Did they say how long it'll take to get your orders now that your packet was sent?
I think they tell you that because a lot goes into you moving, First a slot needs to be open at the SRU etc. Orders is different I should have that soon. Count started yesterday, today is Day 2. I'll keep you posted.Damn that's pretty long! Did they say when you'd get your orders tho?
