Med Board process

Has anyone had their PEBLO tell them they were gonna not going to enter them in the board process . They were gonna do the MEB through the " back Door"

Only if their going to do an Admin Sep w/o recognizing the (possibly) unfitting condition.

I have been told that I am going straight to MEB because I have more than one 3 for profiles. One of them deems me nondeployable. Is this not correct either? Does everyone have to do the MMRB first?

You should go to the Medical Evaluation Board first. They will then decide if you are fit or unfit and wether or not it was sustained or agravated by your service commitment. Then will go to the Informal Physical Evaluation Board (HQ/AFPC) assuming you are not RTD from the MEB. At this point they can assign then RTD, TDRL, PDRL or seperate you w/ or w/o pay.

It doesn't matter how many 3's you have on your profile it comes down to the overall condition of the soldier, rank, age, education and MOS. The DCCS "meb" will decide what path you will take, I went into the MEB process 1 year ago may take a while according to your condition and treatment needed. This is what I was told by people at the MTF and they hopefully know. you would think!!!!

Thank you both for your posts. It will be a long process being I am in the reserves and not currently activated. I have heard that it is taking 12-18 months for reservists to get through the process.

I was rated by the VA 5 months after I got off of active duty and joined the reserves. I first received 60% then was reevaluated about 18 months later and received 80% from the VA. It has been 4 years since my first rating.

Thanks again all!

What i was basicly saying that on my peblo's desk is all my paperwork. He has had all of for over a year. I now have to do everything over again because it is older than 6 months.I had my part 1 and 2 phys 3 weeks ago. He is not entering me into the MEB, he is gonna do it the back way so he says.Doing this he can sit on my packet for another year and not have to answer to anyone. All he has to do is keep telling me Ft LWOOD is short on docs,i am not a priority,i am in a different stack of packets that is next to get started. The way it looks to me is that I have been sat to the side.He has even said that the active component come first that is why it is taking so long.Yes i am guard but with 15 years of active also.Last time i checked getting deployed is active, not just one weeked and two weeks a year. WOUNDED IS WOUNDED

I was under the impression that the Primary Care Manger (your regular doc) initiates the MEB process. So, I don't understand how he can "sit" on your packet. You should defitely raise it up the chain of command as that is completely unacceptable!

John1972,

Are you currently on orders or TPU? If on orders, are you in the WTU? No matter what you need to contact the supervisor of the PEBLO section and find out what the true story is. That is crap that you are getting the run around!

There is an Onbudsman at Fort Leonard Wood Medical Center. I would contact him and find out what the deal is. They are there to assist Soldiers with processes. I found the following contact information on there website (http://glwach.amedd.army.mil/WTU/glwach_wtu_contacts.htm):

Office Phone: (573)-596-0131 ext 65333
Cell Phone: (573) 528-4558

Deployed is deployed!!!!! TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! I have 10 years active.

I would recommend you elevate this issue. That is why I am on this FORUM is to find out where I can press issues to get taken care of.

Good Luck!

If my packet was just sitting on my Peblo's desk I would call anyone that would listen, being in a wtu that would not happen espescially where I am. Complain, Complain and Complain until you are heard battle, believe me they will listen if you make enough noise. Ombudsman, Mtf Co, patient advocate, PCM, Congressman not in any order but eventually u will get answers, Peblo's work for soldiers not the other way make them do their JOB!!!!

I am in the same boat, Fort Leonard wood has had my packet since August 2009. I have had no one contact me and tell me what is going on. The only way I have found out anything was call and call and call. I am in the National Guard and am being sent to the MEB for PTSD from my deployment. I keep being told the same thing everytime I call them....we are short doctors or I am third on the list or forth or second, depends on the time of day I call I guess. I see the V.A. on a regular bases for my PTSD, thank God I have at least that or I know for sure my wife would have left me a year and a half ago. No one can see that it is a huge issue for Reservists! Why in the heck should it take 6 months to get a fricken appointment. I am so fed up and all I am expected to do is just sit here with my thumb up my --- untill one day they tell me I have a appointment. What a bunch of sh--.
