Hey everyone,

As mentioned in the title I was medically retired after 13.5 years in the Air Force. My job was heavy construction. I deployed twice; however, not anywhere with combat. 2013-2014 I was deployed to the Deid and we received hostile fire and hazard duty pay. Yes, laugh and say what you will, but I guarantee the work we were doing earned every bit of it. I’m gathering witness letters, my LES statements from that time and I have the original orders. Has anyone else applied for CRSC with a similar situation and been successful? I was rated 50% DoD and currently 90% VA. Thanks for the help and insight!

Since you were deployed to the Deid, are you rated by the VA for any PACT Act conditions? For instance asthma, bronchitis, rhinitis, sinusitis?
Or rated by the VA for any gulf war presumptives such as IBS, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia?

If so, make sure you list those conditions on your CRSC application 2860 and use IN/IW as the combat-related code. In theory, those conditions *should* be "auto-approved" since they are considered combat related through instrumentality of war.

No. Most of my injuries were musculoskeletal
