Morning everyone,

First, thank you all again for all of the helpful information you have shared. Your help is invaluable.

Starting a new thread here for my case. I will update as I go. When I scrummage through my files this weekend I will input more specific information.

LIMDU Start Dec 2019

MEB Start July 2020.

PEB Accepted April 27th 2021.

VA Proposed Ratings August 9th 2021.

Currently:

416 days since start of IDES.

128 days since accepted by the PEB.

93 days with the Medical Officer.

My PEBLO informed me that my case is in the top 5% of the cases from San Diego and told me in about 3-4 weeks I should be informed of the official determination.

Via email correspondence yesterday, my attorney simply said if my case is taking that long it’s most likely because I was found unfit and we are most likely waiting on the ratings.

Remember to be respectful and proactive guys.

Current timeline update:

134 days since acceptance.

107 days with the Medical Officer.

*Change* My proposed VA ratings were from February 12th. I never received the mailed notification. PEBLO did not notify me until August 9th.

WTF?? Did you get an explanation as to why there was a 6 month gap between mailed notification and PEBLO notification? I received a notification on va.gov that my ratings letter was mailed on 7 September. I never received a letter. I wonder if the PEBLO can see this letter in their system?? Also, I wonder if they are under some kind of obligation to not inform us.... or if some of them are just lazy dirt bags.

So the letter is mailed to your peblo and is apart of your case. From my understanding the ratings are used during your PEB phase and the reason it is not disclosed is because the ratings may differ and there were issues with sm becoming upset that their ratings were what the estimate showed. Its only a overall estimate. You can try calling the va at the 1800 number, just mention you never recieved the decision letter and that it was mailed out on insert date. Ask if you can recieve it perferably by email and do not mention being on the IDES or they may shut it down and refer you to ask your peblo.

I just called this morning and the PEBLO told me that my case has been through 2 medical officers and brought in a 3rd officer as a mediator because of a disagreement between the two prior officers as of was the update on Sept 14th.

Tomorrow, I will call back. I’m really hoping I’m deemed unfit. I was told a 3rd medical officer was uncommon. Can anyone give me insight on this?

Thank you.

What do you ask when you call, because when I try they just shut me down and say they will call me once it gets back from the PEB.

I hit 140 days today. IDES legal refused to answer if I would even be out by the end of the year.

They keep telling me there are no notes on the tracker from the PEB. I don’t even know if mine is with the medical officer.
I’m sorry that you don’t have the information that you request. I have a cooperative PEBLO I wish you guys did too.

Yep, the 3rd Office is the tiebreaker. However If you are at the PEB level it shouldn't be 3 Medical Officers. Should go to Medical Officer first for his fit/unfit, then to a line officer for his and if they disagree, it goes for a tiebreaker to the third Officer, who is usually a line officer. The third officer is only involved if the first two disagree.

Thank you for the reply.

Is it only a disagreement of unfit/fit? Or is there more?

From everything I have heard there is only 1 Medical Officer. They are in the process of training two line officers to conduct the adjudications without the need of a medical officer per the memo the ASN signed.

It’s nuts how so much had happened and then all of the sudden.. “hey this is where it’s at.”

Thats funny, just called my peblo and she pretty much said she doesnt even try to see where the cases she is in charge of are at because then she would never get any work done. I love it here. Oh and apparently there are now about 3400 cases, but I have a habit of ignoring people that dont do their job so I might be wrong.
