Navy, When can I start the process?

Hey everyone,

So was just wondering the soonest I could start the MEB/PEB process. I’m going into my second limdu now and I have been told I will be med boarded and likely separated due to chronic osteomyelitis of the humerus. I actually am going back in for surgeries within the next week or two to get my 6th surgery done, but I was just wondering if I could begin the process while still getting treatment and how that would start? Thanks a bunch ahead of time

As I understand the process starts as your primary care manager, or in some cases the specialty doctor or other initiate the process. Mine was started before my first LIMDU finished due to the length of treatment history.

A MEB is usually started as a result of treatment not being possible or working.

If there is still a surgery on the table, that decision hasn't been finalized yet.
