I was just approved for CRSC and i am trying my hardest to understand and calculate my amount.

Medically retired @ 8 years and 11 months
I am 50% DOD
100% VA with 3 dependents ($3640)
90% CRSC
High 3 would be somewhere around $2850 I believe. I was an E5 my last 3 years and got out in 2016

According to my RAS my retirement pay is $1605 and my VA waiver is $2275
I dont receive any retirement payment bc my VA pay is higher.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Hello,

Estimate based on the info you provided:

1. 1605/50% = 3210 high three (includes cola increases since 2016)
2. 8.91 active-duty equivalent per your info x 2.5% = 22.28% longevity multiplier (2% is used instead of 2.5% for blended retirement)
3. 3210 x 22.28% = 715.18 longevity portion of retired pay (a CRSC ceiling).
4. Based on the info you provided, your CRSC will not exceed 715.18

Ron

Edited to add for general information--common errors made in the past:
a. Inaccurate active-duty equivalent
b. Inaccurate high three or wrong gross pay from recent DFAS RAS
c. Was on the blended retirement program, but not cited
