I started my Medical Board Process at the very end of JUL23. My results from the PEB just came in and determined me as Presumed Fit (JAN24).
I have over 20 years in and within the 12 months from EAOS, and I assumed that's why they made the decision that they did.
My EAOS is next month, 20FEB24.
I have up to 15 days to accept findings, then another 15 days to complete a Medical Assessment Screening for limitations from the Medical Treatment Facility. I also have to wait for the official message to come out which occurs after I accept the findings or appeal, and that takes 2-4 weeks.
I also just put in a special request chit to extend my EAOS 6 months the day before the PEB results, so that's not even processed.
I have also not put in for the Fleet Reserve as well. Which I have to apply for 6-24 months out.
Currently I'm doing a lot of research and would like to know if anyone has any pointers or guidance on what I should look into.
Should I appeal and what is the benefit of doing that. If i appeal, then shows the severity, if I don't appeal, it shows that it wasn't that serious in the first place.
Should I accept it. My fear is that if I accept and my extension request isn't added yet, then I may be retiring within a 3week to 3-month notice.
Either way, I get to retire with my Pension and hopefully get 100% VA disability.
