It's true (well, with some caveats)....
When I was a the Formal PEB, I asked one of the board members about this. I was told that the AF was looking to fund additional Informal Board members (specifically one doctor/medical officer and two Admin officer board positions). These were to be permanent hires. I suppose that, like anything, things are subject to funds and availability of personnel, but this seemed like a reliable report of what is likely to happen.
I can see this eventually speeding up AF cases processing, but I don't see how this would impact most folks here on the forum already past the MEB. Seems like it would take a bit of time to get the members up to speed and actually processing cases.
(BTW, in a pitch to have folks check out the twitter feed, I posted a "tweet" on this a few days ago; I am not sure if the twitter feed will be a useful feature or not, but I think that if it will be, people have to use it...so, I am trying to get people to use and interact with it to see if it takes off and is useful). I have some other comments about the backlog (yes, there is a large backlog at the moment) in AF cases. I will post on this later.
