I medically retired in 2011, 80% army and 90% va, within the first year out I was bumped up to 100% va. I recently found out about crsc and contacted my aw2 rep who forwarded me the app and I sent it in. They received my app last month on the 18th. Out of nowhere I get a letter from dfas saying i owe them 8,000 dollars for sbp premiums. I haven't heard from dfas in 5 years and out of the blue they send me this less than a month after submitting my crsc. I know declined sbp coverage back in 2011 so having my aw2 rep take care of this on monday. Just wondering if there is a audit during the crsc process and if i should take this as a good sign that they're working on my application. I have 5 years in and retired as a e-5, my current va award amount is 3,268 a month. I have 70% rating for combat related ptsd and 10% rating for a puncture wound that happened in my hummvee in iraq. I also have way more ratings but I'm figuring these are the only two combat related. My 199 says that 10 a/c status was awarded and in the blocks it says my injuries were a direct result of combat. On my retirment orders it has yes on both sections asking if they were combat related. have been stressed non stop since I sent my app and just looking for any advice on this subject and maybe a estimate of what I may receive. All my conditions are approved as of August 2011 so I think I might be looking at 5 years of back pay as well. My aw2 rep tells me to stop stressing but anyone with severe anxiety gets where I'm coming from.
