Thank you for your important post.
That is a logical / sensible way to handle situations such those discussed in the HHG thread.
I have to wonder, where are all the senior NCOs in this saga? I always felt it was my responsibility help the more junior members survive the roadblocks that pop up.
Comment/Opinion:
Decades ago, I remember a sergeant major stating that senior NCOs represent the officers above him/her in rank. Example: A division CSM could be more influential than one at the battalion level. They support the command authority of commissioned officers. As the Secretary of the Army's representatives, NCOs carry out the orders of Commander-in-Chief through the chain of command. In carrying out orders, NCOs provide support, assistance, and advice to officers. The same basically holds true for the junior enlisted too.
