PEB Timelines

Not sure but maybe a few of you have job offers and may not know that you can use that letter to expedite the process.

So after I sent my PEBLO and email he called me and I told him that every month that went by I was missing out because I had received a tentative job offer. He told me that he could use the tentative job offer letter to get the process going and this was on Friday afternoon. I sent him the letter Friday night and today I received my 199 with 50% (DOD) and 100% (VA) ratings. My case has been stuck at the IPEB stage for the last 56 days and it was amazing that after sending the letter they made it happened in a few days.
 
Who did he send the letter to? I am in the same boat and had mentioned to him that I already have a job offer but he didn't say he could use it to speed up the process.

Congrats on your ratings and getting the process moving again.

I asked him to take a look at my letter and below is what he wrote.

Letter looks good. Forwarded to my LEAD PEBLO to submit to PEB.

I think I'm in the same-ish situation. I received my proposed ratings from the VA back in December (showed up on eBenefits). I was fine with those ratings and was hoping everything would just move along but here we are four months later and I'm still waiting for final ratings. My PEBLO told me the PEB requested revised ratings from the VA towards the end of January but could not tell me what the revision request was for. I've called the VA and they tell me they don't see a request for revised ratings. I'm 370 days into this process and currently 85 days in the PEB Findings step. Hopefully this will wrap up soon but it is definitely frustrating not really knowing what is going on.

Hey, how did you make that happen? I have mentioned to my PEBLO on several occasions that I received a job offer and he said that unfortunately that wouldn't help my case or expedite my process?

Can you recommend anything so I can readdress this if that is the case that I can expedite my process?

To tell you the truth my PEBLO was the one that brought it up after I told him that for every month that I waiting that I was missing out on thousands of dollars and that is when he ask me if I had a job offer. I told him that I had an open offer with no start date and that is when he told me that I need it a date so I reached out to the company and they sent me a new offer with a 1 June 2021 start day.

Do you know who your PEBLO's supervisor is ??? Maybe you can reach out to him directly because I don't know how you are holding up because after 370 days of waiting.

I'll definitely reach out to the PEBLO Supervisor, thankfully I have spoken to her in the past so I'm going to see if maybe she'll help me out. I started this process in Oct 2020 but have yet to hear and my PEBLO keeps telling me all he needs is my 199 but that it's in the "writing phase." I just don't understand how it can take this long.
 
What’s the dashboard saying about your wait time? Mine says I’m about 5 days off from the average wait for the DA 199.

You mean on the dashboard next to where it says PEB findings, is that the average wait for the DA 199? If so goal is 12 and actual is 21, so 9 days behind from the goal =/
 
When was your VA rating competed according to the dashboard? Looks like I might be a couple of days ahead of you now.

According to the dashboard it says informal PEB and VA ratings are 22 April, what are yours?

Have you heard anything yet?
 
The VA rating step was completed 20 April. No, I haven't heard anything. Once I do, I'll message you. We shouldn't be far apart from each other time wise.

The VA finished my proposed rating on 06-Apr but said they are still working on adjudicating my claim including having just received additional medical documentation as of today. So it seems like the proposed rating isn’t even considered by the PEB.

The VA has been very inconsistent. They told me in March it was done, then retracted that statement and said it was finished on April 6th and sent to my PEBLO. Then today say only the proposed rating was finished but that they are still working my final rating evaluation and can’t discuss anything even though they’ve already sent me a proposed rating.

Ive also been told they have to allow 60-days for adjudication so that I can dispute any issues in my proposed rating which I guess isn’t an appeal since an appeal can only happen with final ratings but IDES legal says I can appeal once I get my 199. It’s a mess. I’m not sure what purpose these proposed ratings even serve or how they are used by the PEB. My PEBLO and IDES legal refuse to explain to me how this process works. It sucks.

I hear ya, I was told that mine was mailed on April 6 and I called last Thursday and got the VA to email me my proposed ratings and my PEBLO told me on 5 May that he received them and that it would be 3-4 weeks to get my DA199 and I am in week 5. Don’t know how much longer it will be to get my 199 so I can get orders and get out.
 
I am in the same boat, but my peblo won't tell me much of anything. I have gotten more info from other va reps then my own peblo. Is there anyone else I could talk to, to get updated on my case?

Unfortunately not really. In many cases your peblo is just as in the dark as you are. Just a lot of waiting
