I am halfway through the IDES process pending my NARSUM. I am in the National Guard on Title 10 orders. All of a sudden, my National Guard (Army) wants me to complete an annual Physical Health Assessment (PHA). I find this odd since I am going through the IDES process and will get declared unfit for duty very soon. What is the purpose of a PHA for the Guard at this point and is it really necessary? Seem ludicrous and a waste of resources. I know they just want their metrics to be good. My concern is that someone (provider/nurse/medical technician etc.) there will make an error somewhere in the system and cause the medical system to contradict what previous medical providers on the active component have established. The ending results will take an enormous amount of time to fix and interrupt and extend my progress in the IDES process. Do I need to reach out to my medical team at my SRU to schedule a PHA or just not react to this and let the IDES process play out normal without a PHA intervention?
