I am starting Transition Leave on the 27th of Aug. with a Final out Date OF 28 Oct. when I went to housing to move my final inspection appointment up a couple of hours so I could clear post on the 26th the lady told me that I was gonna have to pay $374 for early termination of lease, I told her I have orders that Approve my Medical Retiement and she said that I was leaving early on my own and I would need to get my orders amended to show I was staying until Oct 28th. I told her I had earned the right to use the leave and the PTDY and she told me she did not care and I had to use her chain of Command not mine to file a complaint she said it was policy and it would not do ant good for me to try and do anything about it, well I went directly to my Commander and he was Livid. What does this fall under and what protection does a Soldier have when it comes to a situation such as this? Would this fall under the Soldiers relief Act? I know that with orders a Soldier can get out of an off post lease but who would think that Family Housing would try and stick it to Injured Soldiers this way. ANGRY!!!!!
Has anyone ever had this happen when they have Orders in Hand? I will be out and on my way Home in 8 Day's and need some advice if possible "REGs" anything that would back up my argument when I final out at Finance on the 26th of Aug.

I'm thinking your Army? But you never mentioned what branch. Any how I would see base housing manager and ask them to SHOW YOU the regs of why your being charged!

Wow...of all the people that try to screw soldiers. I would file an ICE complaint too so that issue gets on the radar of some high level people.

Oops...just noticed the date. I would like to know what happened with this issue.
