Hi everyone! I recently separated due to an MEB. I'm hoping for a sanity check of where my claim is right now.
My proposed rating was 0%DOD/100%VA. My claim was on the evidence gathering stage until today, and now it seems to have split into two separate claims. The first one has moved onto the preparation for notification stage, and the new one (which was "submitted" today) is still on the evidence gathering stage. That claim is requesting evidence of my separation pay before and after taxes. I guess I have a few questions.
1. Is it normal for claims to split like that?
2. Does that mean my proposed rating was wrong (since they're asking about my separation pay)?
3. Where the heck can I find written proof of my separation pay before and after taxes? It's not on my last LES, and I don't have my W2 with it yet (obviously).
Any help would be appreciated! I know that only the VA actually knows the answer to #2. Just feeling stressed about the situation.
