Throughout the check out process, my command has had me fill out various questionnaires asking me where I will move to. I did some more research and decided I would, in fact, like to move out of the area. However on these questionnaires I wrote down I'd be staying in the area.
I asked someone at my command whether I'm able to change my mind. Without even thinking about it or flinching they answered "no". I find this hard to believe a somewhat informal questionnaire would seal my fate and lock me out of hundreds of dollars of reimbursement of moving costs.
I got my PEB findings and retirement date (May 30th) but no retirement orders yet. My retirement is 2 months away. I am assuming in that time frame I will get orders. How do I make a request from the military to reimburse me for the moving of my household goods?
