Question on DOD ratings

I understand once the PEB deems a SM unfit, the injury is sent to the VA for percentage rating and back to the PEB.

My question is will the DOD rating always follow the VA percentage rating? For example: if the VA rates a condition at 20%, can the DOD rate be lowered to 10% for the exact same injury?

Yes. It has to mirror the VA rating by law if in IDES. If you elect for the old system which is LDES they don't have to adhere to the VA's ratings.
