Retired Sept 29th proposed 100% P&T leaving the Marine Corps. I just noticed a deposit pending from a DFAS-CLEVELAND-RET NET for $2,313. Is anyone able to explain what this might be?
My VA app is just showing an active claim (that didn't appear until about 3 days ago after getting a call from the VA about needing to update my direct deposit) that is currently at Step 5 of 8 (Rating). Surely this isn't my Disability pay is it? I've heard that it is possible for your proposed rating leaving the service to be different, but that it very rarely happens. So now I'm nervous that maybe the finalized rating will be lower than the proposed 100% P&T as I was told.... ORRRR am I just overreacting and this is just some final pay I wasn't aware of from the Marine Corps? The only other thing I could think of was does the Marine Corps pay you retirement pay until your VA Disability pay kicks in? I had always heard that the VA just back pays you for the time between retirement date and when VA disability disperses. I was just shy of 13 years when I medically retired, so I would not rate traditional retirement pay.
Thanks in advance! Tried to do my own research, but the only thing that kept turning up was a RETSPCL DFAS DEPOSIT.
