I will be up front and apologize for my lack of knowledge regarding these issues regarding Tricare/Medicare and am hoping someone could shed some light on this email I received. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

SUBJECT: TRICARE Benefits Eligibility Notification

"Dear Beneficiary,

You may need to sign up for Medicare in order to keep your TRICARE coverage. If you already have Medicare Part A and Part B, no action is required.

TRICARE beneficiaries who become entitled to Medicare due to age or disability generally must sign-up for Medicare Part A AND Medicare Part B in order to keep TRICARE. For more information, visit www.tricare.mil/medicare."

My status is 100 disabled for MH conditions but am on TDRL since March 2015. In early 2016, started receiving Social Security Disability benefits and thought that I already had Medicare Part A automatically. I just got my card, I never seen it before because my family has to handle my Finance/Medical care because I was deemed incompetent in January 2016 by the VA. The card says I'm getting both Part A & B on September 1, 2017. That answers that question I had.

My only question now that I figured that part out, what does Tricare need as proof that I have both since just received this email. They are out of the loop and don't know what to do to let them know. No phone numbers were in the email. Basically, my main concern is what do I need to do from here in order to keep my Tricare coverage? I utilize VA health care system so if I lost Tricare, does this effect me from keeping any other retirement benefits since I'm on TDRL? I'm not trying to lose my Tricare eligibility.
